Hi Menoporsche, having only one useable arm then the answer would be yes. But I'm only trying a dry run at the moment, the dealer, if you can call him that, is changing the switch first, I'm preparing for the worst.

Please forgive my ignorance, but I presume that with a new barrel I will have to get the keys programmed to the new transponder? Are there any mobile guys that do that? I live in Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire! Any idea of the cost?

Well gentlemen, it turns out it is the ignition switch but whether it's the lower easy one of the actual barrel I don't know yet! The excuse for a dealer who I bought it from blamed me for breaking it, unbelievable! If it is the barrel I know about the paper clip trick on how to get it out, but does anyone know how far in the paper clip goes? Also, I thought the small hole was at the bottom of the barrel as you sit in the car and look at it! Mines at the top and I'm just not having any joy getting it to come out! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Car goes in to have the bottom switch replaced on 11/11/21.

Also car is now leaking somewhere on the near side but as yet I can't tell where it's getting in! I have cleaned all the drainage tubes out front and back but none were blocked! I'm loving boxster ownership again, I really am,not!

Ehm, I rather hope the second! It's at RPM Techik at the moment having a full inspection, hopefully  they will get to the bottom of it!

I did feel the carpet, and it was dry but I haven't had the car long so who knows, it could have been wet in the past!

Hi to all.

My 2001 S has been going a little bit loopy recently. It's alarm has been going off, usually in the early hours, the ignition switch has become difficult to use, the air bag light is on, the heater and AC fan won't work with the engine on, same for the headlamps and wipers, the central locking remote stopped working and finally the windows kept bouncing back until the battery went flat and they slowly went down, all on there little own! Every time I tried to disconnect the battery the alarm siren went off.

HELP!!!
