Probably going to need new discs and pads front and rear, has anybody seen any decent deals out there? 2004 3.2

I put mine on full lock and peeled some of the wheel arch trim away and it was enough space to reach the cable, mine is 04 and it’s on drivers side.

cheers.
the frunk release mechanism is temperamental.. it seems to like locking things away with no notice given.
To be honest i rarely use it for that reason.. Repair / replace is on the long list of niggles. This should give me the kick I need.
Had the same problem, actuator was culprit. Bought a new one from OPC for £45 and not had a problem since. 👍

I’ve had my low mileage ( 45k ) a year now, I’ve replaced , bump stops, top mounts, and had it serviced. Apart from that it’s been pretty trouble free, I’m expecting more things to be replaced over the next few years as ultimately it’s 19 years old. Advantage to low mileage in my eyes is the interior shows a lot less wear.

Mine is a 04 facelift, on drivers side also. Most YouTube videos are on pre facelift cars, which they’re on the passenger side. Looks like the changed the location on facelift

Do the windows drop? If they don't it can push the hook above the latch, this can be caused by an intermittent microswitch problem in the roof gearbox. Keep an eye on the hood light on the dash.
Was exactly this, thanks.

Thanks, no idea what product to use. Took me ages to get the old stuff off

Hi again, another roof question I’m afraid.
I’ve recently cleaned around my windscreen frame there was a remanence of a glue substance ( where the roof touches the windscreen frame) looks like Porsche put some kind of strip there to stop the paint rubbing off. My question is, has anybody ever replaced that strip? If so what with?

Thanks I’ll have a look next time it happens, the hook goes above the latch. What am I looking for regarding the light on the dash?

Hi, wondering if anybody can help,
Occasionally when I put the roof back up the hook that sits in the windscreen slot doesn’t align properly, hook stop too high above the slot . If I put the roof back down and up again and it’s fine.
Any ideas how to resolve it?Many thanks

I’ve been browsing the 986 classifieds , a lot of cars for sale where the owner lists the options the car has. Made me realise my 986 doesn’t have many options, it’s a weekend drivers car and options didn’t bother me ( my Discovery is my daily)
So my question is…were options important to you what you bought your 986? And would you have bought the same car if it didn’t have options fitted? -
Had creaking on my 986 on rough roads, had top mounts replaced and creaking has gone 👍🏻

I sent my CDR23 to these guys to unlock, great service and great communications. Maybe drop them a message if you can’t fix it

CDR23 will need coding to the car, fear not though as they can be reset to factory. I sent mine to Dave at DND ( in Paignton if I remember correctly ) who did this for me. Works perfectly now
