Deffo use different DB's as their source info. When i run my plate against the UK wide government ULEZ plate check it shows that my car would be charged in Brum and Bristol. This shows that their DB doesn't have access to the emissions figures documented in my V5C.

Now when i ran my plate against the TFL for ULEZ it passed and said it was compliant so it has picked up the emissions from my V5C so at least thats one less thing i need to do although i cant envisage driving into London anytime soon with the 986.

For the CAZ you need to contact them and attach a photo of your V5 showing the CO2 etc. and they will change that so that you comply with all areas. Worked for me.

    CAZ you will wait weeks!!

I got mine through ULEZ as discussed above and then tried CAZ. My CO2 and NOX etc are printed in my V5. Filled in the online CAZ form with a photo of the V5 and within a week it was compliant, very straightforward thankfully. Thanks for all the help I appreciate it.

To be fair to TfL it can't be up to them to track the CoC data from each manufacturer. It is up to you to prove your car complies if the data is not recorded formally on the vehicle's DVLA records, particularly of it pre-dates an accepted international standard.  It is however down to them to keep the integrity of the database they maintain on compliant vwhicles and not have glitches like the OP seems to have been subject to.

Just a quick update on my dealings with TFL for my 2003 "S":

I phoned Porsche and they emailed me the form to apply for the COC

I filled in the form, and received the COC a week or so later, great service BTW.

I contacted TFL with my Registration number and asking what paperwork they required for my car to be ULEZ exempt and waited for a reply. Four days later I received an email stating my car was now compliant.

They never asked for the COC or the V5 to be sent over, so I can only assume that their system in conjunction with DVLA can now change the status using the registration number.

    Shipping from where?!

Not too sure, upon payment you just get thanks for your order, but no order number. No charges for shipping though, probably dodgy but it's £75 and I should get it back from my credit card or paypal if it blows out.

  5. Mine passed the MOT with no advisories which was a bit of a surprise. All I did was checked everything I could and replaced one driveshaft gaiter and the two rear number plate bulbs for LED's as one of them was blown.

The first MOT after buying a car is always the worse one in my view, once through that one you know where you are with the car.

I meant to reply to this earlier but got waylaid. Got one sat on a shelf that I took out of my car. No idea if it works ok or not though, as the headunit was changed for a more modern one before I bought the car.

    Glad your sorted now anyway.

Thanks anyway, if the one I bought does not work I will come back to you if that's okay. I wanted to change out my Porsche head unit for a Continental DAB that I have , but with the Bose and MOST set up it seems a real faff, so I decided to get the original set up working the best that I can.

My original CD changer does not work and I do not have the CD cartridge for it, missing when I bought the car

  7. I have an issue with the heated rear windscreen on my 2003 Boxster.

I noticed that it did not work because the two connectors and wires have come adrift from the screen. I have continuity in the window element at the points where the wires would attach.

I removed the connectors from the wires and cleaned them up. I have 12v across the wires. I have stuck the connectors back with a a dab of super glue.

I have not had cold enough weather to see if it is working as yet, but am not sure if the super glue conducts electricity or should I have used some sort of special glue?

    Thanks

  8. The car is all up and running again with the replacement fuel pump. When I removed the original and put 12v across it it ran for about 5 seconds and died. The replacement upon doing the same, carried on running so I was pretty confident it was the problem.

Whilst I was in there I vacuumed out all the rubbish and cleaned everywhere, resprayed the battery tray and cleaned out the three drain holes so a worthwhile job done.

So we all good again many thanks for all the help
