That looks a nice car for under 11 grand.

It did look nice and the condensers and coolant pipes had been done. Service history was good. Probably just needed new discs and pads plus a clutch at some early point. I imagine a new exhaust and suspension refresh would not have been too far off.

WBAC just wants general sh!tboxes they can sell in trade and make a few quid on. If they can't trade it on within days they don't want it. Stack 'em high sell 'em quickly!

WBAC were offering strong money for Boxsters in the Summer. When I sold my T in August  most official main dealers and independents couldn’t/wouldn’t match never mind beat. Bear in mind that WBAC had no idea as to whether the car had many options or was poorly specced. In my case it was a pretty high spec car.

The bubble is bursting!! There are some on here in denial 🤣

Just updated the valuation of the Boxster T I sold in August. It’s down another £1300 since 7th November and a massive £10,130 less than in August. The trouble is in my experience most dealers look at WBAC as a starting point. Glad I sold in August via Wizzle as the dealer gave me £700 more than WBAC.

  4. Just checked the 69 plate Boxster T that I sold. On 22nd October it was £50,600 with WBAC - today it’s £44,180 !!. When I sold in August it was £53,180 with WBAC and I sold for just under £54,000 with Wizzle.

  5. I keep getting updates from WBAC and the value of my now departed Boxster T has stayed the same. It will be interesting to see what happens with Boxster values once we are into Autumn.

I’d email a few of them and see what happens, try silverstone and the ones down south like Portsmouth and maybe east London

Mine ended up at Portsmouth. Sold it via Wizzle to the Inchcape Group.

Can't comment on the price but that looks spiffing :)

It was a lovely looking car and drove really well. Unfortunately I spent more time cleaning it than driving it. At least I made £5k in the 10 months I owned it 😄

  8. My T was picked up on Thursday and is now up for sale with Porsche Portsmouth at a very optimistic price. It’s a beautiful well cared for car but not sure it is worth £12k more than I paid for it last October . Link here Porsche Finder

Out of interest I compared mine on Wizzle and WBAC, the difference was nearly £5k from WBAC

You just put into Wizzle the price you want and then let dealers bid. Don’t go with the Wizzle advice. I put into Wizzle a figure approx £1700 more than WBAC to act as a starting point.

  10. Following my increased WBAC offer I put my car on Wizzle and also contacted a few Porsche and independent dealers. Most dealers could not beat or even match the WBAC offer but I did manage to get an extra £500 from Wizzle so have agreed to let the Boxster T go. First car that I have made a decent profit on.

  11. I got the Webuyanycar e mail yesterday saying my valuation had increased. Went online and it was £2000 more than in June ! Am now looking at seeing if an independent dealer will beat WBAC.

  12. I have had a 987.1 , 987.2 , 981 plus 3 Macans all with standard sound system which was acceptable. Have got Bose in my 718 Boxster T and whilst it is better than the standard system I don’t think I would spec it - would rather put the cash towards something else.

  13. I think that if a lot of the 72000 miles were cold stop/start miles a change of PDK oil can’t do any harm. I strongly believe that the PDK box is mechanically robust but it’s potential Achilles heel is the software that controls it. I have mentioned before that in 2010 I bought a 3 month old 987.2 Cayman PDK and within 12 months the car developed a PDK drivetrain fault where I could not get any gears. Porsche flew in a brand new gearbox but when fitted the car would still not find any gears. Porsche Leeds then did a full reinstall of the entire engine and gearbox software and the car once again was fine. The old gearbox was inspected back in Germany and found to be fine.

Not sure if its been pointed out but a 2017 car will require a major service at 4years, including sparkplugs etc

has it been done for you? Don't want you getting any nasty surprises and large service bills so soon after owning it.

Hope collection day goes well, heatwave next week, just in time for you :)

Thanks everyone. I knew I was putting myself in the firing line buying it after everyone’s advice. I’d like to know why so few cars are white so will be doing some research and maintenance I can do at home to keep her spic n span.

For many years white cars were unpopular and only became in favour again after the financial crash as buyers became more careful with their cash and saved money by not spending £600 plus on metallic paint. Spyders and the Cayman R were however always popular in white as they looked so good.
