  1. I’ve had both sports seats (997 & 987) and the comfort seats (987). I’m on the lighter and shorter side and find the comfort seat more.... comfortable 😀.
The sports seats provide more restraint around the upper body. The bolsters on the base are deeper but that didn’t make much of a difference. Other than when getting in/out.
My main beef with both is lack of lumbar adjustment which seemed more significant on the sports seats just because I was more ‘locked in’. Having said that I was doing regular 4-5 hour journeys in the sports seats.

No, that was my first thought but the end of the tool just wasn't going in the socket and while it's hard to see in there it did look neat but square.  The h/l has a dink in lower left area so I have my suspicions.

The comedy is when the light lets go of the retainer with a BANG and you jump 10 feet 'cos you assume you broke it when you do them for the first time 😄

Mystery solved. Previous owner had managed to get a socket stuck on the end of the retaining bar. Perhaps because it was an imperial sized socket...

  4. So today I installed one Nighteye LED headlight bulb.  Why only one?

Because the headlight removal tool which does fit the n/s headlight retainer doesn't fit the o/s headlight retainer!  I've had a look as much as I can and the o/s socket appears to be square but the n/s is the (correct) 5mm socket wrench style.

I can only think of bad reasons why they would be different!

Ordered the 986 tool to see if that fits but who knows what horrors are lurking behind the headlight 😮

Rubbed down small areas of rust in the usual spot behind each front wheel arch and treated with Hammerite Kurust. Will paint tomorrow.

    Great minds...

Just finished doing this but the lower arches look like they’ve been shot blasted. Not sure there’s anything to do about it short of respraying.

Thinking helicopter tape for future protection?

Leave it take the positive position as in so much better, if you are handy with the DA touch the scratches in flat back with some 1500 grit and polish up

Not sure I’m handy! Been trying to polish out scratches w 2500 grit, can only get limited improvement before I bottle it! Stone chip technique definitely needs work 🙁

And know ghosts of the old badge after a DA

De-badged mine today as well, likewise no ghosting I could see after DA polish.

Thinking either leave it or chrome version - there are a couple of small scratches near where it was that I am now noticing more 🤔

As for the rest, no shots of the under pans but I can assure you 30+ hours over the winter was spent cleaning polishing and replacing unseen parts, I like my undys as clean as my oveys :)

I am torn between expressing my admiration and suggesting seeking ‘support’ 😀
