Took it for a minor service at Porschacare. Always reassuring once that's been done and all is well. Rewarded it with some country lane action!

Washed it, hoovered it and then went for a drive with my toddler. Happy days!

My 2 year old son saw a 991 cabriolet parked up yesterday and said 'That's like Daddy's car'. I'll take that - earned him a trip out in Daddy's car.  

@Toddie no probs. Sounds like it will work for your key. I thought it was a great little service, they get very good feedback on HonestJohn too.

Hi @Toddie, the coding is unaffected. They have a little tester to check the signal is working.  If the coding works before you take it, it works afterwards. I had one key where the microswitch had completely come off on the unlock button but the boot/bonnet buttons worked. On the other key, the main unlock button worked but was on its way out and the boot/bonnet buttons lit up but didn't open the boot/bonnet.

Now all buttons on both keys work and I have a new top case on each key.  I was really impressed.

Drove the boxster to keyfobrepair.co.uk in Palmers Green. Had microswitches replaced, new top case and new battery in both keys. Now as good as new. 

Had the air-conditioning regas done. Ice cold now!

Took mine out for a spin around the lanes. Also, booked in for an air-con regas.

@Jason986S, you could get a wrap to match the wheels. Something that certainly does look awesome is your red roof.

Thanks @Sazzy, I'm sure it will feel worth it when you see the rain beeding nicely.  I've still not got around to doing mine but feel the need for a glass of wine too!

@Sazzy let us know how it goes. I got the Autoglym kit for Christmas but have been procrastinating!

Got the 986 passenger airbag deactivation coding done and the aftermarket switch fitted by Porschacare. Also had my exhaust clamps replaced.  Then took my toddler out for his first drive in daddy's car - he loved it!

Fitted new discs and pads and changed the brake fluid last night. Now for some bedding in mileage.

You're nearly there now.  Took mine for a nice drive and then gave it a clean in anticipation of fitting new discs and pads in the week and then getting the passenger airbag deactivation switch coding done at Porschacare.

Took it for its first hood down down drive of the year. So good!
