I’m having a major service end of March at CPS as I really like the set up there and have been very happy with my previous experience even though it’s an hour or so up the road from me. Will probably talk to them about X73 set up or maybe like you I’ll just try the rear anti roll like you. Mine is also non PASM 👍

I've spoken to Lee this week and have planned to do the rear , see how that goes and likely do the front.  I'll probably leave it at that.

Was it favourable for the x73 conversion? Was thinking of doing this but the Porsche Tequipment catalog no longer states a price. It was £2600 last year but since leaving the EU the prices have been removed and what with my recent purchase that had increased substantially I dread to guess the price now. Probably North of 3k.

They didn't discuss prices... but my car is a non-PASM so I have discussed this with my Porsche specialist and will start with the rear anti roll see how this feels and then possibly look at the front but this is probably as far as I will go .

Have to say if I didn't have pasm I would probably be tempted to get the full x73 package fitted, yes it would hurt the ride but it looks so good and the car would handle really nicely.

Interestingly I was reading a thread on Planet 9 last night where this was being discussed in detail .

My understanding is that the bars are the same shape the only difference I noted was that the mounting points are thicker and the bar was solid rather than hollow Schnell certainly don't stipulate any limitations.

I guess they are worried that it may not fit but from my experience and the research I have done it should all bolt right up.

    Thank you Buddy..very much appreciated.

    That's removed any doubt

    Cheers 👍🏾

Nice one, interested to hear.  No regrets my end.

    Hi Daz

May I pick your brain...( tried to p.m. you but you may have a full mailbox)

My independent specialist Cotswold Porsche, have asked or stated the below re. the X73 anti roll bar.

"The only uncertainty is that the kit is based on -20mm.  The drop links are the same, so this would make me think the ARB is a different shape to account for the lower suspension.  Do you want to mull this over?".

My car is a non PASM....do you think this could be a problem for my car?

     thanks for your help Simon

  6. Replaced tail lights for the GTS style variant.

Much better look as the original on a Guards red was just a little to much red.....very pleased.

paid £375 new from Germany (actually I think it might of been an OEM supplier in Poland)

I'm interested in his exhaust modification too.

I was also looking at other options, such as the Cayman R exhaust, which is a larger diameter pipe, with his modification carried out. But does the Cayman R use the same cats/manifold as the Boxster?

I'm thinking I'll fit sports cats. Not sure whether to go with Top Gear at £1,300, or Carnewal at €1,095. If I went with the Top Gear option, I feel like they're better manifolds, and I could sell my standard ones to recoup some of the cost back.

I've just don't the CarnewalGT exhaust upgrade and  I'm now contemplating doing this but I don't know whether to get the Carnewal ones or something like Topgear?

The below is from Gert for anyone interested:

"The P81007 “200 Cell Cat Upgrade” is a pair of original manifolds of which the original elements are removed and are replaced with HJS 200 cell sport cats, the HD version which is especially developed for Porsche DFI and high performance engines.  This upgrade gives 12 HP extra and an increase of the sound with 25 to 30% while the type of sound remains the same"

    Softest to stiffest (Boxster)

    98133370311 - Most 981s (PASM or Standard)

98133370310 (yes 10 is stiffer than 11) Manual car and PTV

98133370312 - cars with PDK and PTV cars

    98133370314 - X73

    98133370315 - for X73 Cayman or X73 718 Boxster with PASM

    98133370316 - X73 718 Boxster with PTV

Thank you. That's great info.....onto my local OPC....which I think might be Wilmslow

The stiffest on the Boxster are the X73 sports chassis bars.  There are two x73 bars available, one with an LSD and one without, in the video I tried both.

The X73 LSD bar felt great but I felt the non LSD bar suited my set up better.  I've since sold the stiffer bar to a Cayman owner with an LSD and he loves it, you can see his comments within the comments section of the video.

If you want to stiffen the rear with a standard car you can go for the X73 bar or even go for a slightly stiffer one than your own from perhaps a PASM car or car with an LSD. My recommendation to you is to try x73, let me know what you decide and I'll help you with part numbers.

    Thank you @daz05.

After watching the vid i think i would opt for the 14 over the stiffer 15. I don't want to radially change the set up but a small improvement would be just the ticket.

I picked up the part number from your video but I'm struggling to find a source. I typically use Design911 but they dont seem to have it. .unless of course I'm searching for the wrong part ?

If you could please point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

    Cheers Simon

The full X73 kit is for 981 without pasm; this replaced original shocks and springs (giving 20mm drop) and solid stiffer any roll bars.

As Daz has done, you can replace the current anti roll bars with solid stiffer versions and still retained your original pasm dampers and springs.

    Thank you

For me it has sharpened up the whole car, the throttle response is better and it just seems to have more mid range grunt, I have nothing to back this up other than actually driving the car, weather has been bad, mines only a weekend car and I haven't seen a dry day on a weekend for a month!

The have a 50 day money back guarantee, I'm not sending it back  :)

    Thanks mate.

Yes the fact that they offer a 50 day sale or return policy is somewhat reassuring so I think I'll push the button on this today.

  12. There are a couple of live threads on the go about this...but I was naturally worried about the quality given the price..but I need not have worried...the webbing is I would say OEM...I can't really tell the differnce.

i was about to spunk a lot more on red belts until @Gedo recommended them..cheers dude...and £75 for a pair of re-webbed belts..of this quality...it's a no brainer for anybody in  the market

  13. Just did this mod in about 10 mins.....I too was worried about getting the ignition barrel out as I'm a bit heavy handed but it came out easy...No force is required.

thank you to Guvs for pointing to this thread and also the note about not forcing it.

i do have a question re MOT tough

ive brought these lights, again big thank you to Guvs...he is like my Porche fairy godmother ?, as he put me in Touch with the guy direct and I saved some pennies...

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-2008-PORSCHE-BOXSTER-S-987-Gen-1-SMD-LED-DRL-Daytime-Running-Lights-UK-/271483022587?hash=item3f35a62cfb:g:5jsAAOxyXzxTGtkr

but...the mod works...and the upper section of the light is on in the "Home" position.

the upper LED's go off when the main beam lights are on..but the lower lesser powered section or bar is on too.

would this be an MOT failure as aren't there only supposed to be one main light on at night ?
