That's great info. Those look like similar thin flnges to mine. Are the studs welded at any point or just pressed in? I have a couple of old blow torches but have been looking at a MAPP gas one that I believe will give higher temperature. One with a flexible neck should really help get the heat where it is needed.

Did you get them into the orange zone and did they need much hammering or just knock out?

Just heated from the flange side until the stud was red, from memory it was only about a minute of gas, i used a small socket over the stud to stop it slipping and it only took a couple of gentle taps, no need to hammer hard. You can see the splines that are pressed into the flange boss, i dont believe they are welded, if they are its only a tack thats probably corroded anyway.

  2. Having trouble posting a link, but if you select a 2011 gen2 3.4 from design911 you will see they list the pump as £545

theyre are cheaper non OE if you scroll down the page, but my thinking behind geniune parts is stated in my last post

  3. Just found a clip i made of mine, there was no leak or loss of coolant, just a constant low level bearing noise, which when the belt tension was released revealed the wobble in the pump.

Then you realise the tensioner pivot arm is seized and needs replacing, may as well get the bearing’s too and its another £250😩

    ordered.

987.2 and not sure if mine are led or not (never really looked) but after 13 years, figure they need a change.

Looking forward to a report on this.  I tried several interior LEDs in my 987.2 and all of them started flickering after a couple of months, i gave up and embraced the retro look😃

  5. Geniune porsche coolant would be charged around £12 a litre and could be 10 litres diluted 50/50 with distilled so £140? Plus labour at £80 p/h for a couple of hours, i can see where the 335 comes from.

Its your call, but id wait until it was combined with a pump and/or pipe replacement to get value for money.

  6. I’d recommend getting an elm327 bluetooth obd adapter for less than a fiver from ebay, and the free torque app, you can get live coolant temp readings, might help diagnosis with your coolant issues.

I'm getting two rears fitted for just over £340. Size is 235/50/17

Just as a comparison, I bought all 4 in the 17” sizes from Costco back in December 2020, the rears were £263 plus £17 fitting (N rated PS2 with a manufactured date only a couple weeks earlier)

I got lucky that they had them available at the time of an offer of £30 off the pair, currently not showing as available so can’t compare prices to today.

edit to add for OP, Costco have no N rated 18” tyres either

Every 12 months - regardless of mileage. I only did 1,600 miles in 2021 🙄 but just had the old girl serviced and MOT'd yesterday - another pass with no advisories. I really need to get out in it more often and start enjoying it!

I bet most owners can say the same (I know I can🙃).

MOT for mine is in march, I'll get the garage to do a minor service at the same time, I appreciate it's cheaper to do it myself, but I like the convenience of getting it all done in one go, then being free to store it in the garage again😄. Time to continue with the MOT prep ( wash/polish/coating etc.😁)

So i've been advised by friends in PCGB 👍Also wondering whether i coukd use a power drill with variable speed settings as my impact wrench is single speed.

Thanks for that. Not sure whether types are marked on the screw bits i have but was in any case planning to look for the one with the best fit, especially as i am concerned not to further damage the heads, given the force applied by an impact wrench. I may end up buying a PH3 bit if necessary and may also use the hammer method suggested by @andygo above.

    https://www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/screwdrivers-and-hex-keys/halfords-advanced--impact-driver-and-bits-178172.html

I used this type of impact driver not an impact gun.

  10. Fixed my annoying driver's door rattle, found the connector and wiring for the door handle micro switch was free to swing around inside the door, a quick cable tie later and it is silent.  Also removed the intermittent window switches and sprayed with isopropanol, now working 100% (thanks to, I think, Paul P for that tip on here, I had been looking at replacement £££).
