Today I revealed my new dodgy JPS livery at Beaulieu. Lots of positive comments from BoXa member, but didn't hear what the public were saying as they had a good look at it, but hey.

Brilliant, Jason!  You kept that quiet yesterday when Darren posted pictures of his JPS wrap.  Had you always intended to do the JPS thing, or did you decide after painting the wheels?

Hope you've had a great day, BTW. :)

Before I joined this forum I would not have believed that. I now do believe it and whats more I know what a bonnet bra is and have seen one.

Ah yes, car bras:  too OCD'ish, even for me, and that's saying something.  Sensible, maybe, but they just look pant(ie)s.

(See what I did there?) :D

For anyone who doesn't know what a car bra is:

Didn't realise you had any dinks?

My needs a few removing but I'm waiting till I've finished in the engine bay with the throttle body.

I have to say the panels on my 987 seem softer than on the 986? It's almost like you could lean on it and dent it ?

Im working my way through my to do list and finally re painted my calipers ?I hate that job but the weather was so good and I had the time ?

Im letting them harden off over night before applying the decals?

Looks like a great paint finish.  Nice job! ?

I recently installed a glass wind deflector in place of the mesh item.  There might be a slight increase in wind noise, but nothing troublesome and no noticable buffeting.  No rattles either.  There is a small cutout at the base of the glass, as you can see in the photo below.  I wonder if this is designed to allow some air through, to prevent, or at least minimise, the effects described by @Greenman above?

Just one minor issue I should have mentioned: in strong sunlight with the roof down,  I can now see a perfect reflection of my gear selector in my rear view mirror via the glass wind deflector!

I noticed that Dan. I haven't seen the glass one but I bet it's a real quality piece of kit, being German and all that.

Thanks, Eddie, I'm looking forward to getting it tomorrow.  We can compare on the 30th. ☺

I'd really like to find a small "P O R S C H E" logo for it, similar to the one on base of the rear window of my 987, either black or translucent grey.  Took a look on fleabay, but no joy.  Any ideas?

Wine probably would've worked better!! So many jobs on this car I'm starting to question whether I should just give in and leave it as it is.

Ah, don't lose heart, @Sazzy.  We all have days like that, when we wonder why we got out of bed!

If it's faded or bleached, I believe there are products out there to renovate and recolour it.  Someone who knows what they're talking about (i.e. not me!) will be along soon to give you some good advice.  Shout out to @geraintthomas and @Jason986S in this regard (to name just two members who might be able to help).

...250 mile round trip to deliver Mother's Day card...

    LOL! ?

Why use Royal Mail when you can go for a long drive in your Boxster instead?  I must add "delivering a letter" to my list of perfectly good reasons to grab the keys and go.

You may be a newbie @Gronk but you're learning quickly!  ?

I believe they are something to do with the roof rack attachment.

My hinges are inside with the Allen key bolts for adjustment.

They have already filled and primed the top ready for a wet flat and painting!

We are trying to find a decent paint match but there is only one mix for cobalt which isn't ideal as even though the body work is good the paint has faded.

I may just have to put up with it, it is only for the winter months and at least it will be. Cobalt blue and not Zenith which is more

Could you get the car paint supplier to scan the car's bodywork adjacent to the hardtop to get a good colour match?  I had to do that for repairs to an alloy wheel in a non-standard colour.  It produced a perfect match.
