  1. I believe @Tubzilla has some recently refurbished 19" 997.2 Sport Design wheels for sale with tyres. I think they look fairly similar to those in the first link but perhaps have more spokes. I'm not sure of the offsets but I'm sure he'll be able to provide more info (if they're still for sale).

  2. I had both of my practically new EIS radiators replaced with Mahle ones today. The EIS ones were leaking badly after only a few journeys AND the passenger side one had already been replaced once before under warranty! I'm looking forward to a journey where I can't smell coolant and the coolant level warning light isn't flashing at me when I get home 😁🤞🏻

Decent match , loving the carbon effect !

Thanks, the carbon trim styling was optioned from new and one of things that made me really want this car. I was a little nervous unclipping and unscrewing it to fit the replacement head unit in as it's blooming expensive to replace 😳

  4. I bought this one on a special deal back in 2019 for £36:

I took it out of the box and have stored it in the garage ever since but have literally never used it. I also bought a rubber jack pad and some axle stands so I think I'm all set to go should I ever feel inclined to use them :D

Looking at the Halfords webpage it seems the jack was 'Auto Express Recommended in 2020'.

  5. I collected my 986S today after its MOT yesterday (passed with no advisories - woohoo!) 🙂 I also had a 997 shifter, new headlight washer and centre console hinge repair kit fitted at the same time. Merry Christmas little Boxster, I hope we can cover more than 370miles next year! 🤞🏻

Thats a bloody good idea, Im going to do that at the weekend. thanks for the tip.

Thanks 👍🏻 I did have to gently drill out the eyelet for the ground as it was a little small for where I wanted to place it. I then used a M8 half nut to secure it (I have a spare if you don't have one and want me to post).

  7. I decided to connect my CTek MXS 5.0 permanent eyelet connectors (one to a ground on a top mount bolt and one to the + battery terminal) this afternoon. I fed the quick release plug through the battery cover and the cable fits nicely underneath the front compartment/bonnet and over the scuttle when closed too 🙂

Did he give you any additional sealer?  I did an armchair with the same stuff, but it needed sealed and finished after the dye coats.  It’d be interesting to see how the self-seal stuff lasts on a high-traffic area

No additional sealer was used. I'm happy to wait and see how well it lasts as it was really easy to use and has smartened it up 🙂

    Hi

Great work. You could always swap the seatbacks over to even out wear.

What dye did you use? By coincidence a friend gave me a litre of Gliptone dark blue leather dye today.

A friend gave me some 'Furniture Clinic - Self Seal Colourant' and suggested I give it go so I figured it was worth a shot. It was pretty easy to use and I'm very pleased with the result 🙂

Gotta love a PSE very nice! Great buffing. Did you high temp wax/seal it?

Thank you 👍🏻 I didn't seal it as I didn't know what would be best to use 🤔 I have some JetSeal 109, Zymol Carbon wax etc. in my arsenal but not sure if those would be suitable. Can you recommend any products?

You were lucky, mine were completely fecked, so had to replace with new ones, bit of a pain doing the drivers side due to the electronics so you dodged a bullet there.

Phew! Sounds like I was very lucky (which makes a change!) 🙂

Yep, long nose pliers and a small Allen key to help put behind the vertical strip to make sure the horizontals all clip back in one at a time.  Fiddly rather than difficult.

I did this nice little fix during my lunch break today and was amazed it only took me about 3mins! This has annoyed me ever since I bought the car and I always assumed it would need a replacement vent. I only needed to use a pair of small, long nosed pliers. 1st pic is before, 2nd and 3rd are after (yes, I will be cleaning the dust off later 😁).
