  1. I've had a low reading on my MAF, so decided to order a new one.

A bit of advice from @PaulQ who kindly pointed out there are two types of MAF for the e gas throttle, 996 606 124 00 and a later one which changed in June 2000, 996 606 125 00 (now superseded to 01 at the end).

I had a look at mine and luckily it was the later one, so ordered a new Bremi MAF sensor from Euro Car Parts https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/bremi-air-mass-sensor-air-flow-meter-434330271 for £33.

Whilst I was punting around the engine bay, came across the reason for a small oil leak. The oil filler hose hadn't been clamped properly , probably at the last service, so now clamped back back up.

Bought another arrived this morning 2007 3.4S Tip, 57k mileage one owner and extremely unloved, cheap and sounds very sweet, and is my next project to,undecided, just yet keep or flip. Sat under a tree for god knows how long however already with several hours power washing it's starting to look very good, few issues but I will sort.

That sounds interesting, keep us updated!

Out of interest how easy was the Yatour to fit? I've got one on the way for my 986 S.

Mines an 986 as well. If, like mine, you’ve got a Head unit placed below the aircon controls, I found it easier to take this control panel out after removing the radio just to give myself a bit more room to manoeuvre, it’s only two screws. I put the panel back in after the radio was in situ as I could see more and it helped with routing the lead from the Yatour.
