@BBB that number you have given will help add to my information on the IMS variations for the 3.2 987, I have the others for the dual to single change for both 2.7 & 3.2 on the 986 (helpfully they are in the official parts cat) and I picked up the 2.7 info for the 987 from various articles..  Do you know the source?

Once I have complete data and can cross reference all sources to be accurate I'll ask if a sticky with all the IMS/engine number info can be put at the top of on of the main topics on the forum as a reference point for all.

Would it be possible for a 2004 986 to have been fitted with the larger bearing? My car is a 2.7 registered in May 2004 with engine number 65406205. Although the last four digits are greater than 4715 I suspect because it's pre-fixed by 654 and not 615, as referred to above, it will have the smaller bearing?

It very much a matter of personal choice - but I actually like it!  Is the interior light grey as well (dash top looks grey?) if so maybe that why the original owner specced it that way.  As other has said it might not be everyones choice but its different from the rest and alos looks in fab condition.

If the rest of the car is good, and the service history and mileage is right then why not.  Better to have one than not have one!! 🙂

I agree. I think it won’t look out of place with a grey interior - which the car looks to have. If the hood is in good condition and the car is sound I wouldn’t let it become too much of an issue. It’s just that you don’t see too many with a grey hood so it will look different for a while. I think you can check on here (by means of a small payment) to see if it was an option from factory?

OPC Glasgow posted my plate holders out to me, I did have the option of going into the centre to pick them up they said they would do whatever suited me best. I registered about 2 weeks ago and I have not received anything else so far

That was very decent of them. Fortunately my OPC is just 2 miles down the road so I don’t mind dropping in on them (and drool over their stock at the same time!). Like many others have said, it took almost 7 weeks for my welcome pack to arrive.

Agreed you should get a magazine which is released twice a year, so you should get the latest copy in your pack.

@Bferry70youve been short changed, I’d demand a full refund 😂

😅. I received a hardback book / catalogue from Porsche yesterday, with lists and pictures of all their Classic Porsche parts. I'm now waiting for the 1 litre of motor oil!😜

From what I've read on this thread, I have to go into my OPC for the number plate surrounds. 👍

  5. Hi. After almost 7 weeks since signing the Porsche Classic Agreement I received today a black Porsche box / sleeve with a metal members card with my details and a small pamphlet? Is this all they send - and do you have to go into your local OPC to pick up the welcome pack? Is this what everyone else received? Thanks

I added a spoiler indicator today. Only took 20 mins and works really well. Plus added bonus it uses up one of the blanks on the dash.

Hi. I’ve been looking at doing this myself having seen the part online. Is it an easy install, I.e. do you have to remove the instrument cluster to install? Cheers.
