+1 for PPF on headlights. The car is 8 years old and the lights are perfect.
@andygo You can see the edges, especially if you use a paste wax like I did😬 I did have a front wing recovered after I ran it into the garage door. Reep Knarsborough did the work and the polish they used was and still is a superb glossy finish. Must ask them what they used.

Picked it up from OPC following the rear suspension carrier recall. Affected parts replaced. Full Geo check and adjust with print out before and after plus descriptive invoice ( no part numbers or prices) for record. Maintenance book was also updated showing the recall program number and date.
I did not recieve any paperwork from Leeds OPC! I expect it will be recorded electronically on the Porsche maintenance manegement system. At least I hope so!

I don't know these cars, but it would be worthwhile having the codes read, before it let's you down in a big way. Does that cost much BTW?

It won't be too long until we see PCM4s in this generation of car they are the MIB2 units VW uses and there is a huge community which specialises in retrofitting them.
Is it worth waiting for this? And will it give greater funtionality? I do like a bit of the latest tech.

Not quite got the hang of this link thingy!!

The only reason I haven't gone for the Android Auto mod, is that multiple way-points for road trips are not available in google/waze. If https://www.myrouteapp.com/routelab get their act together, then I'm in.
As @daz05shows in his video, contolling navigation, music and messages is an absolute breeze using Android Auto (which is essentially a mirror of your phone)

If I was going to spend some money, Android auto / Apple carplay would be the answer and play google maps, waze or whatever apple use throught the hrad unit.

Cost comparison to OPC??
Saving was up to £500 depending on which OPC you speak to, so well worth having.
The service I've had from RPM so far, has been the best ever. highly recommended.

Had PSE fitted at RPM Specialist Cars in Knaresborough. It's been on order since August, so took a while for the parts to come in! I must say, it sounded great on the short blast when they brought it back😁
Just to add, I did not buy the sports tips, as the original stainless ones were in great fettle.

Did he need to take the bumper off? This is what is putting me off.

I've just checked the workshop manual and the correct torque is 23Nm (17 ftlb).
The manufacturer specified torque setting of 23Nm is correct for the OEM fasteners, but not for the other mix & match materials mentioned in this post. Stainless, brass and chocolate, to name a few😁

Once you put the man goggles on you made the only choice available....And what a choice😍

My Cayman has been sat on the driveway unused all week, so I treated it to a decent wash this morning (work is very quiet here at the moment...). Also, a while ago it had picked up a feint scratch along one side on the panel behind the passenger's door, which was quite annoying. I managed to successfully polish it out by hand, using Meguires Ultimate Polish, so really pleased with that Didn't even need to use the machine polisher, which remains unused in it's box in the garage
So lets be clear, was it a real scratch you polished out😁

A good route planner like this one https://www.myrouteapp.com/en
Use the 14 day trial to get all the features for free and then automatically drop back to basic, which is free.
Oh! and a snow shovel

good to hear UK cars are covered as well. Can you confirm what result Porsche's recall check website gave for your VIN?
When the post first appeared the VIN checker returned a "no recall" however I have just looked up my VIN again and and now it says recall required.

Brilliant news🙌
Glad you got it sorted.

@chuckkieegg sorry, what I meant to add is don't drive it on 5 cylinders and think it's ok.
-
I learned a similar lesson to you in the Z3M It was running on 5 cylinders in northern Germany, so I decided to limp it to Zeebrugge for the ferry and this happened! The plug electrode had burnt off and fallen onto the top of the piston.....Expensive.

I hope I find out before the warranty expires in September !
I don't see that it matters, if you reported the fault whilst still in warranty?
-
If it's OK to have a guess, I'm going to say a faulty ABS sensor, because it is speed related.

Picking up a replacement evaporator in the morning 👍
Externally, the old one looks in good condition.
Fingers crossed this was indeed the issue
Will keep you posted
I really hope it is the evaporator at fault after all the work you have done.
Just in case, look around for oil misting on as much of the system as you can see (especially the high pressure side) and have it pressure tested with nitrogen, before putting it back together.
Good luck

MOT at OPC?
in 981
I expected them to max out on price, but like you say the local tester looks like Stig of the dump and I don't want him thumbing my precious toy.
OPC also want me to leave the car all day, which I'm not prepared to do, so if we can't agree a convenient day/time then indie it will be.
Buying an Import? Should i be worried??

I was refering to this, not it's import status. Go ahead and enjoy your corvette.
