Picked up an icarsoft v3 to read the codes, there were a couple of stored alarm codes from replacing the battery. Cleared them and then tried to lock/unlock with remote and manually. No new codes but remote still not working and single honk when manually locking
Checked the real time view and all the doors, cubby and roof show as closed.
The only thing that seemed to stick out was "input signals - Radio contact: open"
Also the same for Input1 which also shows as open....
Is this the sensor on the side of the cd/radio and should it show as open or closed?

Yup, it's starts normally now, nothing happens with the windows when cranking
-
Windows have always dropped ok when opening the doors and it's starting ok after the new battery. Will see how long it holds charge.
-
Yeah, could be - any easy way to test?
I replaced the battery and now it's back to not locking remotely.
Do the microswitches control the interior lights? As they do go off when the doors shut. Same for the boot and frunk, they both go off when shut (put my phone in and recorded a video lol)
Does that leave the knick back cubby microswitch as the likely culprit?
The other thing of note is that the red led on the central locking switch stays on when I lock the doors with either the single or triple manual lock.

Ordered an S5 110 Bosch from Tayna, fingers crossed it does the trick.

Yeah, just looking at batteries. Any benefit in "fancy" AGM type batteries rather than regular SLA?
-
Hmm, so went to take it out and the battery was flat, well flat enough not to start the engine.
When cranking the windows went up and down a little and after that the remote central locking started to work.
Charged the battery for a bit and then the remote locking stopped again....
Will give it a full proper charge and then see what is up.

Hmm, not sure on the door light error actually - is that on the door lock switch above the hood button?
-
So remote central locking has stopped working....
So symptoms are as follows:
Keys fobs seem to both be functional, led comes on when buttons pressed and the corresponding red led flashes on top of the dash so it seems that they are transmitting and receiving ok.
When I lock the car with one of the keys I get a single beep from the horn. Triple locking it locks the passenger and fuel flap ok.
I believe that the single beep indicates that it thinks something is still open but I have double checked the boot, frunk, fuel cap, both doors and the cubby box are all shut....
Thoughts?

I know that the RTS exists but has anyone any experience with either the seasucker or rockbros suction cup bike carriers on their 986?
I have several friends who have used them on various cars so I'm not worried about the concept, rather wondering whether anyone has any actual experience with them on a 986?

It hasn't been changed as far as I know, although the cd changer in the frunk has been removed (the wires for it are still there though), so maybe it has.....
