Claim Query

I have two cars insured with the same insurer. Car A has 5 years NCB (unprotected) and car B has 2 years NCB.

Car B has been bumped in the car park in quite a nasty way (two panels and bumper) and I need to get it repaired. If I claim I will lose the NCB on this car but will it affect the more important (i.e porsche) 5 years NCB??

If it does, I shall be having an expensive month!

I should seriously hope not - If you've built up the NCB seperately then they should be independent of each other....

But as with all insurers, they are scum and make up their own rules.

Good Luck!

I've got 3 policy's and had a bump last year in one of the cars, it hasn't affected the other sets of NCB.

And so I found out on Friday, I don't need to tell my insurance company on my bike insurance (policy No. 4) about the accident ??? Strange I know but they only require information on accidents involving the bike ?????

I used to have 2 insurances running (same company) on two cars in a similar way.

Had a claim on the car with less NCB (2yr), its insurance was affected as you

would expect. The policy with a higher NCB (4yr) did not lose any NCB (again

as you would expect) BUT now you have an extra accident to mention

when both come for renewal (if you want to shift companies)

In this case it has an effect and is taken into account by your new

insurance company.

Doesnt make sense, but like Simon says they r scum (or good at

business) whichever way u want to look at it ;)
