I am 25 and live in a "bad" postcode... which does not help!

Topgun1978
I tried calling First Alternative yday as my insurance is up for renewal as well.. I`m 26 (27 in June)... 7 years NCB and live in NW London... their answer.. "We can't insure you because of your age!!!" I`m mean how cr*p is that.... I`m currently with admiral who have quoted me £952 for my next years premium.. Looks like I might have to stick with that as I also tried Esure and their answer was the same! When I had a 2.5 BoXa, I was paying £580 Comp PROTECTED at 33yrs old with No tracker. Now I have an "S" beeen quoted £750. Peart Associates insure mine on the Porsche Insurance Scheme via Royal and Sun Alliance.Dickie

They charged me £107 less than my current insurer (Norwich Union) was offering, and a whopping £180 less than I paid last year!I'm 45 going on

Yes... the age criteria was a factor with First Alt.. I mean don`t they trust us careful young men ... My best quote was with admiral who quoted me £1200 last year and now my premium has gone dowm to £952 p/y. My stats: 26/M/7 Yrs NCB/NW London address/garaged - well sometimes lol! - for a 2.5 1998 Boxster.Would be worth others checking them out..... croyde
Rang First Alt today as they would not quote me on the web and the young lady who answered did not even know what a Porsche Boxster was, she'd never heard of it.Anyway after telling me that they did specialise in "those sorts of cars" they would not quote me as it will be a second car and they need at least 4 years no claims. They can't take on board the fact that I have centuries of no claims on our Beemer. Seems daft.My current co, Admiral, will insure both cars and allow my no claims on both. £500 for the BMW and £1100 for the Porsche.Does this seem pricey, I mean it is London, parked on street and I'm only 42, married, house and kids. TonyCooling
croyde, I have the same situation with the second car, however, you can release the no claims on your other car and put it on the Boxster. The only problem is you will have no no-claims on the other car. It worked for me as I only have a fiesta.
croyde
Cheers, have looked into that but the Beemer is group 16 so the quote with no "no claims" goes back to stratospheric.
