Suky986
Just had the mot carried out and have noted two advisories. 1 rocker cover gasket starting to leak 2 rear main oil seal - slight leak Should I get these repaired urgently or can this wait considering car only covers about 2000 - 3000 miles per year ? No idea about rocker cover but the RMS seems to seep as standard on these vehicles (as long as it’s not actually dripping it’s probably ok - mine seeped on my 987.1 but never dripped and it never used any noticeable amount of oil). Just found this which might be what they are talking about regarding the rocker cover? https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/960613-oil-leak-from-valve-cover-gasket.html
JohnnyUK
Good they have mentioned the leaks. beyond the remit of most mot's I would have thought... They must be looking for the business.? mine has always has a safety bias advisory... I think there is so much fluid over the sump and transmission that they cannot guess where it's from!??
