P0441 fault code

Car has been running faultlessly since I bought it until the other day when it wouldn't start. I had to try numerous times to get the engine to catch. Once it was running ran fine, but when I switched it off and tried starting it again the same thing happened. I read the fault codes and got P0441, P1224 and P1225 - all suggest excess air is leaning off the mixture too much - possibly the carbon canister purge valve not closing. It has a new fuel tank vent valve about 5 years ago.

Tried it again today and no problem at all. Cleared the codes and no new codes have come up.

Any suggestions? Anyone had a similar experience?
