Elmer Fudd
Hello peeps 😁 Ok, after my paranoid meltdown thinking maybe my IMS bearing had failed I had another looky and the noise was actually coming from low under the engine at the front, so I took the aux belt off and felt the action and movement of the bearings in the alternator, tensioner, etc, as I felt the water pump pulley movement it was quite bad and the bearing felt very rough I did notice some coolant had been dripping onto the cover underneath as well. So, there seems to be quite a few different makes on the market ranging in price, Pierburg seem to be the OE ones, Which would you recommend? also would you replace any of the rollers, thermostat, etc? On another note, i bought a set of 'surefire' coilpacks off ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124760273903?hash=item1d0c4ab3ef:g:AyMAAOSwt5hYY-6Q I've since been told I may not have made the best choice 🤔. What do you reckon? Edited June 14, 2021 by Elmer Fudd
vmack
I recently fitted a Meyle HD water pump and have had no issues, plus it comes with a pretty good warranty. It has the plastic impeller and not a metal one.
the baron
Check for play in any of the pulleys and rollers etc and replace as necessary.
