Darren Sapsford
I have been looking at K&N , BMC , Pipercross. Any recommendations or just a waste of money?
Simon
I have put BMCs into my last few performance cars - C63, M3, GP3. They are beautifully made pieces of kit, but I’ll be honest made absolutely no difference to induction noise or performance. But it’s a kind of feel good factor, even if it is a placebo. phazed
^^^^^^^^^^^ Stick with the original for a standard engine unless you just want to spend.
Ninesomething
I had a Pipercross in my last car. Definitely sounded more exciting. Time comes I might do another one. IIRC it wasn't expensive and they last forever.
MickH
I have the MRN induction kit. Its pretty loud, beautiful bit of kit and really well put togther
Codfanglers
The oil from these things can transfer onto your MAF sensor. Save your money and stick with a £20 Bosch.

Guest
I purchased my dry performance filter from spyder performance if that helps. Nice induction noise with a desnork.

Ninesomething
OK is it like the stock sound but moreso or is it different? Also did you feel any extra go?

It has an impreza like growl in low revs. And is pretty racey sounding in the high revs. I have the cayman plenum to fit then mapping is next. I don't think it will make a difference until all is done together.

MickH
Just another note, I had desnorked and removed the baffle up until fitting this. I needed to put the baffle back to tame the noise and its lovely now

Made very little difference, Id go with the BMC personally if just changing the filter

So I got free filters. Always worked well and sounded good.

Darren Sapsford
I ended up fitting a pipercross filter and trying the baffle removal. The car definitely felt better but with the baffle removed I noticed the mpg going down.

I always drive the car hard, is it possible you were driving it harder to enjoy the increased induction noise?
