Danncus
While I was replacing the front drop links I noticed that a ferrule on one of the power steering pipes has a split. I’ve no idea how long it’s been like that, as it’s not easily visible even with the wheel removed. question is, what’s the best solution? I’m thinking of leaving the clip in place and getting a good quality worm drive (or two) clips to close the gap? should I fit the same to the others front and back as a precaution? I’m off to the north of Scotland for a weeks touring mid September Thanks
smit572
When I had my Porsche services by a specialist they noticed I had a split ferrule was advised to use a clamp as you suggest , been like it 4 years no issues.
RedBarediver
Yes, a hose clamp is apparently the way everyone (even Porsche) does it
Fat Rat
Mine has had the same treatment. Return line. Very common issue apparently.

Yes, just put the hose clamp over it and tighten. Not too tight as there is no need to clamp it, just prevent it from further deterioration and opening up more.

Danncus
It’s the metal band that’s crimped onto the rubber pipe fitting
