my q7 has gone from 1100 to just short of 3k FFS!!!!!
shopping around frantically as i've been away driving across europe best i can get so far is 1700 - still trumpy for a school bus!
Least its not got the Range Rover theft tax added in - im speaking to clients paying 5-10k for a RR - EEK
-
i remember it going in for a service Gen1 GTS - it had done around 18,000 miles - daily driver to work and a few family trips.
From memory the note on collection was discs and pads were on their way out and he made a comment that cost would be around 6k - maybe that included a bigger service which would of been done at the same time? I was half thinking of selling it anyway at the time and that just made me pull the trigger a bit quicker.
I've just had the same on the q7 - new discs and pads all round due as 80% worn (so they told me) cost £3200 with a couple of tyres chucked in for good measure so i've sold it and replaced with another q7.
I remember the scary stories from when I had the ferrari - discs and pads (Ceramic) back then in 05/06 were 18k a set of 4! - that will teach you to lift and coast!!!!!

Never made it @D8EAN the horror stories put me off.
thought I found a decent spec X3 M40i the other day but it had cheep tyres fitted to it and missed its last service with BMW……i binned my GTS at 18,000 miles - had to have new pads and discs all round and the quote was close to 6k thru porsche so i thought get out whilst the going was good.
same with the q7 - discs pads tyres all needed doing at 33k - so ive chopped it for a Vorsprung model
-
@Wish what happened with the low ball offer?
Macans seem to be holding money well?
Miss my GTS model - superb sound and did everything very well!

Agree with lone wolf
seems a bit cheap to me, plenty of back street setups out there and even though you see the super car outside doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna be good!
id take the hit and go somewhere else as that would bug me
-
bang on that!

Totally agree I expected it smooth, at least a discussion during the process from them. To be honest it is a small issue for me and annoying I have to drive 20 minutes to go and see the place again. Then if they agree to fix it I will have to book it in and then drop off and collect, it’s all this wasted time that annoys me. A simple call at the time would have been better. Will go and see them tomorrow, so far they have been good at responding at least. Will keep you posted
what did you pay to have them done ?

wheels look too small to me..... still interesting point - what are Porsche going todo with no replacement planned - is it the end of the road for the boxster ?

I've got a number for a tech at South London Porsche if you want to try and box his ears

does it have to be fitted at an OPC? what about buying it from a part specialist and then getting it fitted by an indi? would it work out cheaper.....

@Withy..Thought I'd let you know, my OPC has been in touch and my car is now being built on 23 October, and should be available to pick up 12-15 November which is before the previous date given for building the car! Apparently they are keen to get UK cars built and shipped!
isn't the macan going full EV next time round?

A regular at our Porsche meets has just chopped in his daily Macao Turbo, 6 months from new as he did not enjoy it as much as his previous GTS 😉

Sounds like a plan Dean. I was thinking of some company like photo box to create the calendar online easily enough and just have as many as paid for ordered up + a few spares for late comers, with proceeds/profits going to the site or charity.
good idea boss.
maybe set up a new thread and we can get numbers cranking
-
my wife has just had some made for family members from photo box, all seem pretty good and not massively expensive.
We could run a poll for the 12 pics, get me the originals sent over and numbers I'm happy to set something up on photo box and just run them off
Renewal cost circa four times higher than last year!
