  1. Actually took it to work on Friday - first time it’s even been out of the garage in two months. No smoke on startup but the brake pads had stuck to the discs so tightly it wouldn’t move! I left it handbrake off but in gear. I had to rock the car back and forth from the passenger seat!

  2. Up to Oulton Park very early Saturday, motorways very clear, lots of 6th gear, 986S returned nearly 32mpg on VPower. Brands on Sunday for the final BRSCC Porsches races of the season, again over 30mpg on the way down. Return journey a nightmare! A few more little rattles now but it still makes a comfortable mway cruiser. Just a shame there are so many lane-hogging a-holes these days!

  3. Donington and back in the rain yesterday and I continue to be impressed by the new Michelin PS4s. Don't think I'd ever buy anything else for a performance car now.

Followed a grey 981 down the A5 pushing on until Towcester, two up. Gave a wave before they headed off west down the A43.

P10 from 18 starters in the first race. Didn't start the second race as I'd found I'd got no brakes on the green flag lap!

  4. Brands and back yesterday for Britcar. Didn't get to race the Cayman this time but the team were out in it with two new paying drivers, one a complete novice.

Dry and quiet on the way down but by 16:00 the rain had arrived and I drove back in rain and spray. Dipsticks on the M25 with no lights on - as usual.

This was the first time for me in the wet on the new Michelin PS4s and I must say the car felt more stable and sure-footed than I've ever experienced. Was totally happy to stick in lane 4, at the speed limit, with a nice big gap behind and in front, while everyone else pootled along. I'd certainly recommend them now - no question.

How many miles have you done in them? I found that switching to the ps2 and now PS4 that they took a few miles to bed in.  I crapped myself when I put the ps4s on thinking they were much worse than the ps2, but absolutely love them now.

    Interesting. About 300 now.

  6. Michelin PS4s all round, courtesy Black Circles, who were a massive £80 cheaper the Event Tyres - who normally blow everyone else out of the water. This is the first time the car has and anything other than Pirelli PZero Rossos on. MoT tomorrow then its off to Snetterton for a weekend of racing a 924 in the BRSCC Porsche Championship.
