This was the first time I’d fitted it. I’m better at it now and it’s snug like yours. Survived the storm last weekend at least!
I’m hoping the cover is enough to stop my drains flooding (by hopefully stopping water getting in) as I don’t have the stones to try taking the sides of the car off in the residential parking here - there isn’t really lots of space and rarely any spare spaces to spread out a bit.
You are in Edinburgh? (I’m in Glasgow) If you want a hand to take the sides off to clear the drains let me know - its pretty easy and i can give a hand - you only really need to remove the rear wheel. And it probably takes 30 min per side. (I did mine). You can always come over to Glasgow and do it on my driveway.

just remember to put something in the frunk to stop you fully closing the lid.
I've heard a sponge through the bonnet catch works well

Without checking, pretty sure it is a quick and easy change in the settings in the RHS cluster,
Settings>>units>>speedometer >> select km/ km/h or miles / mpg

Wouldn't this be a warranty claim?
I guess so if it proves to be a real issue. I'm not certain it is bad. I need to hear itt compared to another car to compare

This video at 3.45 and 4.30 shows the speaker in the back of the instrument cluster 👍

Thanks
. I can’t work out if it sounds ok, or not, so I need to sit in another porsche and hear what it sounds like -
there definitely seems to be sound coming from the grille above the cluster, and a look at hte parts catalogue does not show any separate speaker in this area - so it makes sense a speaker it is built into the cluster.

And you haven't just adjusted the setting to quiet ?
The speaker I think but not certain is located near the instrument cluster but not certain.
Definitely not set to quiet.
It was on Medium when I noticed the issue, and I've turned up to loud and it still isn't right

I can’t help feel the my parking sensors are not quite right - just started this afternoon - they are working front and back ok, but the beeping sound seems slightly quiet / muted/ muffled and and the constant tone when close to something is ‘fluffy’ in sound as opposed to being crisp before . Ny suggestions?
Is there a spend above the cluster in the dash?
its not water ingress (despite the torrential rain this weekend in Scotland) - the car was. Under a half cover and i cleared the drains a month or so ago - and hte carpets and floor pan are dry

When I took your former 981S baby into the Glasgow OPC for a R1 PCGB workshop inspection evening,, the Tech said the same.
Noted the Zunnsport grilles and said great idea and recommended them as a precautionary measure 👍

Is there much difference between the paid app and the free app Tom Tom Amigo?
Ha!! I thought you were calling me "Amigo!" 😂
I have never heard of tomtom Amigo!!! So can't comment but Google the difference and the first hit suggested Amigo is not compatible with Carplay!! 😱
I have found the Paid tomtom go routing pretty good in areas I know. It takes me the way I would normally go, so if it routes me an odd way, I tend to trust it and it has proved pretty reliable.
I use it in France too, and it is pretty good too. And shows accident hotspots that have cameras😉
I used to use copilot, but moved away from it because the lack of carplay support.
I have Google maps and apple maps as a backup

I use paid for tomtom Go app on the iPhone via car play.
I'm very happy with the routing, traffic notifications and speed limit information and speed camera alerts

Does it have a OPC warranty?
Nice car, nice spec.
If so, somewhere around £35k as a private sale, if not, £32k?
As a trade sale, knock £5k off that. As a buy from a dealer? £40k?

Haven't done it yet, and it may be too late for a forum intervention by the time someone replies, but...
Thinking of taking mine to the local car wash mafia, as it's cold, I'm too lazy to do it myself, and someone cut their grass with a strimmer leaving it mostly sapphire blue but covered in bits of green gunk.
To be fair, the local guys are pretty careful and do a good job for a tenner.

When I bought the orange one s/h from a dealer in Germany I was personally vat exempt but normal Germans weren’t. So yes some places charge.
If you bought second hand in GErmany since 2020 you would potentially been able to buy German VAT free, as an export purchase leaving the EU, bit it would be subject to VAT and import duty on import to UK (on full second hand price) from HMRC

There is no VAT on used cars, only when new.
dealers pay 1/6 of the margin in VAT on second hand cars

changed the PDK gator for a 718 one - in anticipation of me changing the direction of the gear change.
And currently having the PSE and X73 replaced
How do you change the gear change direction? I know the 981 pdk manual isn't a bit counter intuitive with + forward, - back, and this was addressed in the 718, with the more standard "- forward, + back" orientation

I don’t think they are stretch bolts but I may be wrong. In my head stretch bolts have a documented tightening method - something like torque to x then turn “plus a quarter turn or so many degrees”
the docs for the rears just specified a torque setting
but it’s a possibility and a valid point.
There is a thread (pardon the pun) on here about whether replacement of the caliper bolts is necessary
It looks like they are not stretch bolts, but they are cheap and Porsche state to change.
Possibly corrosion can tear threads when loosened.

Did the rears myself with Porsche supplied parts since I have warranty
If that wasn’t a thing I would probably go pagid disks, textar pads, Porsche shims and the little screws for the disks and reuse bolts and springs etc - sensors if I needed them
I would not reuse the bolts as they are stretch bolts AFAIK, so single use items 😉

It’s a 718.
PDLS headlights with 4 DRL LEDs 😉

Rather than getting PWIS coding to remember last used ASS, PSE and Sport setting, I got this memory module from T-design in the states https://t-design9.com/memory_module_porsche.html
Plug and play.
Cost £190GBP, but got stung for £55 VAT, Customs duty and handling charges 😭

No worries 👍 let me know.
Yip, I've got an X3m40d as a daily driver 👍 a bit of a swiss army knife of a car. Loads of power, torque, space, comfort and reasonable economy with all weather capability in the classic BMW blue with oyster interior. It's quite a nice place to be 😀
