I need my rear wings done at some point - can I ask how much that cost?
£1.3k, but that also included redoing the black decal along the passenger door.

Whilst Betty always looks good from a distance, recently she has started to look a bit gnarly up close at the front. The main causes were:
1. A few years back, whilst trying to remove some squashed flies from the bumper, I lingered too long with the jet wash and stripped off a section of the clear coat.
2. A couple of years back I had a very low speed ding that caused the bumper to flex. This in turn caused the paint and clear coat to crack and over time these cracks have become more prominent, and in doing so, once water started to get amongst the paint, turned it slightly green (i.e more Miami Blue than Riviera))
3. Over the last couple of years, the clear coat on the nearside front wing has been crazing and had spread about 50% along the wing.
So last week, I finally decided to get everything sorted and get the bumper and wing resprayed. After a recommendation from @Araf, it went of to Wrights bodyshop in Strood, Kent.
A week later it was all done and looking spectacular.
So here a a bunch of photos from before:
And here it is after:
(As is often the case, the shading in the photo doesn't quite do justice to the colour match, which in real life looks an exact match)

Oh and what are the tips for fitting the RTS in the car as I have to use the passenger seat ?
Next time I disassemble them I'll try and show you. Having the roof down (and leaving it down) makes it a lot easier 😀
But yes it does need the passenger seat to not be occupied unless they are happy to squeeze around the struts

Nasty dent!
The edge strips are body coloured? Is the camera playing the usual colour tricks?
I am undecided on that. It so depends on the lighting conditions. Today it looks an exact match, the other day it looked more like Miami Blue. This is one of the reasons I went for the thinnest stripe their masking process would support as I figured getting an exact match for R Blue would be tricky since its such a flat and light colour

Cheers BBB, Also where is locking wheel nut socket kept. ?
If it’s not in the glove box or arm rest box, it should be in the tool kit in the front.
But it’s best to keep it in cabin instead of the toolkit in case the battery dies and you cant access the front.

Hi Matt, did you store the car there whilst the wheels were being refurbed? I think Lepsons offer that?
No. I just put my winters on and took the wheels in the CR-V

Lots of people have never seen on in the metal! You can explain why, if you can hear them ask the question! Or get some Air Pods.
They are more than welcome to visit Maidstone😀.
The AirPods do help though as I’ve used them before.

Can you store it in the car demounted?
Just about, but reassembling is more of a pain than taking it on and off whole.

Hopefully it is in place ready for the Gayton next month! 👍
Still undecided if i can cope with the wind noise on the 2.5 hour journey.

Loving the 986 avec RTS. Do you keep it on there full time?
Mostly. It comes off in a couple of minutes if needed

Not been too active on here recently so thought I'd add a recent update done to my 987.2, Betty.
After hitting a shockingly bad pothole on a B-Road around Kent, I ended up with a dented rim that meant a failed MOT would be looming:
I could have just had the dent repaired, but decided to go for a full refurb of all 4 wheels. The main rim colour is now Santorini Black (glossy with metallic sparkles in it), with a thin body-coloured strip around the edge.

Interesting videos on hand position on torque wrenches. I’ve never done it wrong myself, but that’s only because I’ve never been in a situation where I would.
TL;DR Always apply the torque at the designated hand grip.
If you only want to watch one, watch the last one to see the difference it can make to the applied torque.

Enough to allow you to attach the restraining strap to the front of the hood.

Does the capacity really matter? Can't you just make up the right concentration in a jug and keep doing jugs until you fill up the tank?

I’ve just spent 10% of that on a Bluetooth adapter and hoping it with my phone does 80% of the job; the 80% I want.
You spent £180 on a Bluetooth adapter. You was robbed 😀

One at my way, well apparently it sa "Boxter"... a mere £12.5k with over 140,000 miles on it
don't think I've ever seen such a poor set of for sale photos.

Its always surprised me that someone hasn't made an aftermarket equivalent. Having said that, I have one and aren't selling.

The passenger side actuator has seized on my PSE. According to OPC the only way to fix it is an entire new exhaust as it built in. If so then I’ll just have to live with it, but does anyone have any suggestions to try and resurrect it?
-
Did you check its properly seated? If it has popped out, it might be sitting next to the radiator which will warm it up. Had the same happen on mine once.

Maybe you are driving so fast that time dilation comes into effect😀

Aren’t the recommended pressures on the info card in the door jam?

Now you know the part number (996.504.504.00), I'd still give your OPC a call as they are likely to actually be cheaper (assuming eBay is new).

Judging by the look of the fixings and supports, yours has never been used.
