any obvious signs of that being the case? My exhaust has developed a much deeper, rough tone of late at low revs. Still sounds fine above 5k but in normal, round town driving it’s a bit… gruff.

    What @Patt said!

Have a look under and get someone to turn PSE on/off for you. You should see both rods moving freely.

The actuator rod on mine looked fine, but it wouldn’t push out when PSE was turned on. The valve would open by hand and weirdly the actuator would retract fine when turned off, albeit with a bit of a clunk.

I could live with a month.

im on the waiting list for one side-(broken actuator)……………. 🤞🤞🙏

Sounds SO much better!  Had the spoiler actuator changed at the same time too as it was on its way out.

The warranty renewal has more than paid for itself!

My spoiler seems have started to not seat fully by about 10mm. I'll add it to their list. Hope they don't want me to book it in for 'evaluation'. :)

Unfortunately I had to book it in for them to confirm the problem…..twice actually as first time they never actually tested the problem I’d described!

for me, it stops about 5-10mm short….then push it down to seat properly.

Two trips to the OPC for what was a 1 min test. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Had the local(ish) OPC look at my broken PSE actuator tab on monday so they can inform the warranty dept. How long does it take to get a response generally?

Same issue for me. Actuator has gone on one side. Will retract but not extend. Confirmed as a warranty claim this week.  Confirmation there and then, didn’t need to wait.  Parts, on the other hand, might take some time.

Add to that, spoiler actuator being replaced as not retracting fully. Sometimes sticking.

That’s the warranty renewal paying for itself!

Vacuum issue throws a dash error code stating coolant error. FYI

And most will then blame the changeover valves, rather than anything else as they are made of swiss chocolate too...Already been down that route.

Vacuum leak also makes a noticeable drop in mpg.

    Thanks Patt.

As long as the warranty covers it, I'm good!   Fingers crossed

  6. Good to see these becoming available……as looks like I need a replacement too.
Not a seized valve, but one side will close when switched but won’t open (valve opens when turned by hand).
Mild drama with the OPC telling me it had seized without testing it. Going in for testing as could be a vacuum issue.
    We’ll see.

Just like you see on a 911, the rear arches get a coated covering to protect the arches from chips etc. My 718 has loads on them and getting them painted, £200 each.

Would anyone or has anyone thought to PPF theirs to protect them?

Rash was pretty bad in that area on my 981 Boxster so after dealer prep and polish on my Cayman I had that area PPFd (plus Imber, bonnet, headlights and mirrors)

8,000 miles in and they look perfect.

Xpel do specific cut outs for these areas

    Yes it's at an OPC.

I did think that too, having previously bought from an OPC, plus reading their speil about "body refinishing to Porsche standards".

Perhaps they're waiting for a buyer to request repaint here?

But there are other blemishes I'd not accept. So perhaps not for me.

If it doesn’t feel right. Move on, for sure

  9. As been mentioned, this should 100%  be done as part of the prep, especially if it's from an OPC. That and any other niggle on the car.
It was resprayed on mine and I had ppf applied to the front bumper, bonnet and sides. Xpel ppf do templates specifically for these areas.  The plastic is pretty soft and the investment worth it in my opinion.

It maybe an idea to ring some of the better dealerships in your area and ask who they use or if you’ve got any friends that have used somewhere by you and recommend them. I would of recommended Lepsons but apparently they’re not so good these days, shame as they were my go to for my bits and pieces 👍

Agreed. Waiting to hear back from Porsche Portsmouth, I think they use The Wheel Specialists.

Much prefer a recommendation than a good website, for sure!

Wow. Did you reverse into anti-terrorist barriers? How can you do that at 1mph?!

Car was parked along side a half sized kerb. I parked there on purpose to avoid someone parking to one side.

Forgot it was there while ranting to the passenger about the sh1t meeting we'd been in.

Pulled away and turned straight into it.

Still in the Anger stage of grief!

Not today, but yesterday, kerbed a rear wheel reversing into a side road while my missus was jabbering at me about something inane.

    Feel your pain.

    This happened today.

    Have had a little cry....

The state of the tyre!  Happened at about 0.5mph.

Had to crawl home 70miles. But as a consequence git a new PB...

Also, probably common knowledge around here, but if you press the key locking button twice in quick succession it will lock the car without arming the alarm. Handy for the many occasions we travel to the Isle of Wight and don't want the alarm to sound every two minutes on the ferry ☺️

Definitely worth knowing and something I had to get out of the habit of as on most cars a "double click" on the lock button arms the alarm and deadlocks the doors. On a 981 it'll leave your car exposed somewhat.
