The site i got it from is no longer trading. Make sure you get one with a stencil included. It makes alignment and spacing so much easier
Ordered these online and arrived today. Not sure what a stencil is, are those the little cutout bits ?
Have you got any more close up pictures of it on your boot, just so i know where/how to align it ?
Also, in that picture above, is it just the angle, or is there a curve in yours, in line with the boot ? Like some letters sit slightly higher then the others ? -

It is not obnoxiously loud. It is not night and day from standard, but it is louder, raspier at low revs and just the same howl but louder higher up the rev range. It gurgles nicely on the overrun, which is the biggest change. It it were louder I would want switchable, but this seems just about right to my ears (which are not the best). I did 30 miles on the motorway with the roof down and didn't notice any drone, but to be honest I am not sure what drone is. If you can fit it yourself buy a second hand exhaust, they are about £100. Get it modded and fit. For about £350 total excluding vat if you don't like it you can sell on and put your original back on. I'll be keeping it on.
Cheers for that. Sounds good to me!
Unfortunately changing a tyre is a far as my skills go for working on a car, but it sounds like it's worth it, so I'll probably just drive over and have them do it. Thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻

It is this. Prices on the page. https://www.haywardandscott.com/porsche-boxster-981-bypass-mod.html
Cheers.
I read quite a few reviews about that mod from people with a 987.1 that were really happy with it, but also read that on the 987.2 DFI engines it doesn't make a big difference.
I see you have a 981, I assume they are DFI engines as well?
So you're happy with it, it is a big difference in sound, and no dronning etc?
I'm only about 15 minutes away from hayward and scott, so tempted to go for this if you say its worth it.

I brought the exhaust to Hayward Scott. I bought the exhaust second hand from Cridfords. Thanks for the grammar lesson, unnecessary but appreciated.
May I ask how much you paid for this ?
Is it the bypass mod listed on their website ? https://www.haywardandscott.com/porsche/986-987-boxster/porsche-boxster-987-bypass-mod.html -

I got mine from designstuffonline. He did the "S" in red for me
The letters on your boot, you don't happen to know what size they are do you ?

I also like the Porsche lettering, actually so much that I just put in an order for them! I think that despite the curvature the right spot is above the spoiler, would look too cramped below.
May I ask where you ordered them from ? Are they the smaller 981 letters mentioned above or are these a bigger size ?

That looks awesome, really like that!
That's definitely something to add to the 'to do' list once I've got the car.
Where did you buy the letters from? I wonder if they do them in red... 🤔

I also changed the Boxster S sign on the boot lid to PORSCHE
Have you got any pics of that by any chance?
That side logo looks nice.

Hoping to pick up a white 2011 S in two weeks time, but whilst driving home today I saw a white Cayman with red side decals, and thought that looks rather nice.
Just wondering if there's any folks here that have gone for decals, and if so where did you get them from ?
Also can't seem to make my mind up yet which I like best, so hopefully some photo's will help.
The car I'm hoping to collect :
And then I'd want red decals, something like these :I think maybe the stripe all the way till the end, like in the last (silver) one is too much, I think I prefer the one above it, buy maybe without the small bit on the bumper...
Also contemplating a red badge (either 'Boxster S' or 'PORSCHE') on the boot, instead of the white badge on a white car.
Would love to see some idea's if people have changed boot badges and/or added decals. -
My jag is automatic so I'm used (and bored) of fully auto, I just want the option of being able to select/gears when I want during a spirited drive.
My wife's smart brabus has paddles on the wheel, but it's a single clutch and takes like a good second to respond so nothing like what I expect pdk will feel like.

I'm gonna drive over to London this afternoon with a whole list of questions to ask, and to drive a pdk for the first time.
Thanks again for all the help so far folks.

Seems to me that if he pops it down to his OPC every time he has a problem it’s probably a well looked after car.
This, plus he was honest and upfront about it. He could have just charged it up and not tell me, but he didn't.

I’ll be so bold:
if you really like this car as it’s the perfect spec/price and few good ones are on the market now, assuming it’s priced at 15k plus, ask for 500 quid off, buy it and fix it yourself.
It is unlikely to cost 1k to fix a battery drain issue, and even if it does you’ve only paid 500 extra to get the car you want. Which in the price range 15-20k is negligible.
I might be wrong but it’s a point of view.
I did consider that, but I just want to drive and enjoy it, not having to take it to garages trying to fix problems just after buying it.
It's up for £ 21.750, but I guess there always room for a bit of haggling.

Charge folks, that's very helpful.
So he said I'm still welcome to come view and drive ve the car tomorrow so I'll definitely go do that, so I know it's the car I want, and then I can ask some of the questions listed above.
He said its booked in with an OPC who said its £ 192, to plug it into some diagnostics computer. Would that pick up things like alternator problems etc as well or just electrical problems?

So I was supposed to go view a 2011 987.2 3.4 S PDK this Saturday, but the owner has now said that the battery was drained again so he's booked it in with his local Porsche dealer to have to examined.
I've got through his posts on a Boxster facebook group, and in March 2020 he posted the following :
"Something is draining the battery after my car went in for servicing, so much so that it won't trickle charge. Can't be sorted now because of lock down.
Can anyone tell me either how to remove the battery without setting the alarm off or how to lock the passenger door once the battery is removed?"Reading through his posts he stated there was nothing left in the arm rest power socket, but no real fix was given I think.
When I asked him about it he send me a picture of the heater controle unit (with the buttons of the heater and temp settings) and said he to replace that, and he had the PCM repaired (as that was rebooting occasionally) and he had a new battery fitted.
But obviously something is still draining the battery, is this a common problem and/or has anyone else had a battery draining problem ?
He seems like a genuinely nice guy who is trying to sort this problem before selling the car, so I'm happy to wait until it goes in next month, but just curious to what it could be.
Anyone fitted side decals ?

I got them of a guy who posted it in the "Porsche for Sale, UK" facebook group. His name is Jamie Lee. They are available in black and in chrome and cost £ 25, including postage.
