  1. i am little confused and i might have this wrong , your drive shaft on your old one pulled out of the inner cv attached to the box leaving you with the spline end, so the second hand unit is a complete shaft with inner cv attached

  2. your second hand unit looks like the shaft is complete, as you say just remove the 6 bolts and pop the end out new one in, if you do that  and put disc caliper etc back in place i can't see a mechanic charging you to much for a new brake pipe and bleeding the brakes

  3. Firstly kudos for taking this on, been looking forward to your update

i am no expert but as you say simplifying having the complete strut now.

i can't see from your pictures but i assume the top mount is still in the car, i would remove that first,

2 as the drive shaft has pulled out of the box surely you have to remove the cv end from the box, i would say your old shaft has the potential to be damaged and would not be using it again even a slight off would cause vibration .

3 i would offer up the whole second hand strut up including drive shaft and get it rolling and then take it to someone for brake pipe work gearbox oil etc

my 2 cents but don't know how capable you or with the spanners, keep up the good work

  4.  last night putting the car into the garage when my friend and neighbor said oh like the number plate lights some douchebag had fitted blue led's ,the worst thing is i have had it out a couple of nights mortified, can't believe i have owned the car for 5 months and only noticed now, new ones fitted
