  1. I used Northway to fit my pse on my 718.

Great guys and Ray is a great guy and a Ducati fan , been a few times on my bikes in the good old days.

They did have problems though, they had trouble programming it in.

I had 5 visits back, when they programmed it they would loose other settings, got a bit annoying tbh . In the end they couldnt do it so ended up at an Opc to finish.

The car has 3 networks and 2 servers , my conclusion was it will take a few years for them to catch up with the tech?

Porsche arent that forthcoming training others.

    £85.76 for sealant 🤐

£20 for amazon or halfords - total joke.

£300 for aircon service, seriously no wonder people think twice about using OPCs.

Yes the air con recharge is expensive,  but the car will use R1234yf refrigerant, still double though.

My roundabout way of referring to the news (must have been on here) that Porsche now have to rebuild all the ordered cars that went down with the ship, so they'll have pushed back new car deliveries even further.

Yes about 1100 on the ship., thats a lots of Porsches , im.sure some limited runs

  4. After many months of deliberating,  have decided to put a deposit down on a new Macan GTS.

Well i have been informed that Porsche has sold out of everything for 2022 and i could expect my car in the second or third quarter of 2023 and thats without any more delays if i was lucky.

    Gone off the idea now.

I have specced the -10mm option which I believe means PASM rather than SPASM. I had a Z4 which was way too harsh and I had to sell it after 6 months so I don’t want to make the same mistake again. I’d rather miss out on the last few tenths of handling than take the risk. In reality, I’m sure that either option will be fantastic.

I think you,ll find its the run flats on the z4  that makes the ride harsh?

I must be in a minority.  This latest model , and the previous models, are nice cars, probably great cars and I have sat in them at OPC"s and thought - yeah - nice place to be and I see what people like, and I have never driven a Macan  -  but personally - I just can't get excited by this market segment.

If I won one - I would keep it - unlike some of the alternatives.

Good that we all like different things and for sure it's a Porsche - so scores points, but I don't reckon I will be buying one.

I have to be realistic as to what i can get into ?

If I decide to trade in it will be for the next 8/9 years until EV’s and it’s network have had chance to ‘evolve’

My current Macan I’ve had for nearly 5 years & bought used, so 8/9 years for a Macan I spec is no hardship to own long term.

Also my Macan is in for yet another warranty repair with a backlog on the part so I’m without it for 2 weeks+ so I’m getting somewhat disillusioned with it to be honest!!

This is the final ice macan they have said so will be sold along side the new ev model until sales start to dip then it will be discontinued.

I think.it will sell well for that reason.

All they keep saying is the next gen of ev cars will have more range and faster charging etc etc , so like you i will leave untill the very end?

Motorbikes will cease ice sales in 2035 its been announced too.

Wonder what the queue will be like to buy one of these??? If us mere mortals. Would even get a look in 🤪

I think you will , might have to wait a year , but they build more of these per year than anything else.

From a couple of conversations its the ev version which people are enquiring about .

Odd the GTS model has no option for the 75ltr tank, you think you would need it more 🤣

Also choosing one on the wheel options alters the ‘interior’ config!!! Seems a little FUBAR IMHO!

    Seems some conflicting spec

Blimey Mike, WBAC text and have now offered even more for my car! As I've spec'd this one to exactly as I want I'm keeping it but as you infer the absence of cars is driving up prices.

Seems they are after the gts as the turbos are available and stay in the dealerships a lot longer

Thats interesting Mike. When I dropped the registration documents in to the OPC for my GT4 I mentioned out of interest I had put my current, 6 month old, Macan GTS into WBECs system and they had indicated a value less than £5k less than I paid for it. The OPC said they'd probably offer more. Certainly made me think!

Hardly nothing for sale at the moment and what is commands a high price.

The face lift will have touch screen controls which isnt going down well in other VAG group cars and the 992

It isnt being released until Autumn and quite a few have deposits down already or so the dealership has said.

  12. Im seriously considering the Macan Gts , i dont think ill have any chance of getting in and out of a 911 or gt4.

There is a facelift model coming out. The dash is 992 like and updated info system along with some exterior tweeks .

Unfortunately this isnt available to order until later in the year.

They have stopped taking factory orders for the present model as well.

Definitely worth ringing around too.  Portsmouth and Bournemouth quoted different prices for me.  Had it done at Portsmouth for around £1800, inc Chrome tailpipes.  That was a few years back though.  £2600-2900 sounds obscene

Prices have increased 10% in the last couple of months , extra charges as we are not in th EU apparently

Lovely looking car😃. If I could be so bold🥴; get rid of that horrible front number plate holder and replace with a genuine self adhesive one😃. It's the one thing IMHO that really spoils the lines of Porsches.

One of the BIG improvements I did to mine, never had a problem with an MOT.

Did you do this from new?

I don't think these are selling that well.

Had a random call out of the blue today from my local OPC asking if I am interested in buying the one that they have coming in.

Difficult to say as the standard gts 4.0 is also struggling a bit with slots looking to be allocated, even though you have no idea when it will be built.

Ive have 3 calls in the last year for a gt4 and Sypder from 2 different Opcs , i think these sell ok?

Finished off the removal, cleaning and waxing  of the last one of my wheels. Also cleaned all of the suspension parts. Both front wheels were a pig to get off as the retaining hub lugs had “welded” themselves onto the wheel centre. Cleaned up the rusty hubs and molylubed the retaining lugs. Should be easier to get off next time.

When that happens to me i loosen the wheel bolts and move the wheels via the steering wheel whilst off the jack and this breaks the grip

I’ve got a very low final payment. The car is worth more than the cost to pay it off, so I will buy it and use it as a px. Due to various reasons we didn’t do the mileage we anticipated when we took out the PCP so we’ve over paid on the purchase effectively. On speaking to the BMW dealer today he thinks second hand car values have gone up. So I gain on the swings and lose on the roundabouts...!

Been in that position with a car on pcp, dealer said it was worth x and px was worth x too against same make. Bought car and looked at an x5 different brand part ex was lower than what i paid for it . Ended up keeping for another year as too expensive to sell privately.

Porsche notorious for offering low part ex on other brands .

Just do your figures before you buy

Evening all. Well I didn’t buy the one I found back in September. Will start looking again now that the second lockdown looks to be on the way out and we will actually  be able to drive it somewhere.... I think that used prices are going up. My PCP on the Z4 ends this month and we have a good bit of equity in it which is great news and makes the purchase easier .  Watch this space !

Shame about the car, but youve got to be sure?

Are you going to buy the z4 then sell it to release the equity?

To reap the benefit of the equity you would need to trade against another BMW as trading against other manufacturer you get rock bottom price as they would trade it on.

Classic pcp to keep you with the brand?
