When I had my 986 I “lost” the locking wheel nut key, I rang OPC gave them my VIN number and they got me a new locking wheel nut key. I can’t remember how much they charged.

The air con is working for the first time since I bought the car back in May, I can recommend the Groupon offer at ATS at the moment for £45 you get the system checked for leaks and if it’s okay the recharge the complete system, emptying out what was in there first and an antibacterial treatment (aircon bomb to you and me) - now lovely cold air - all I need now is a heatwave!
-
I changed out both condensers and the dryer - there were a lot of leaves in there and the passenger side condenser had obviously been leaking for a while looking at the state of it

Wow that looks great - what a good match, do you mind me asking what materials you used and where you bought them from please?

You sold them to me Stephen, it's funny how all that has lifted must be constant heat with condensation, anyway nothing ventured and all that!
Umm I know I am getting on a bit but really I haven’t sold any lights for a 987 - honest

Well for how much I paid , I am going to have a go at splitting them to effect a repair
Let me know how that goes, from what I have read you basically have to dremel cut them apart to reach the inside and then “glue” them back together! I don’t think these will come apart like the headlights by putting them in an oven for 5 mins or however long it is.

How did you do those?
I have bought two cheaply that are not as bad , however flaking
They are new ones which I managed to get on eBay and they turned out to be pristine, so a lucky find. I am not sure how the flaked ones can be fixed which is why I bought these.

I fitted lovely new rear lights, went from this;

Did the DRL hack and changed out the bulbs for new LED ones
Here is half way through Changing the bulbs, the new LED on the right

Gave my car a change of oil (Mobil 1) new oil and air filter, new pollen filter and new spark plugs, but while taking off the coil packs to put in new plugs noticed they were cracked so new set of coil packs too. It’s been a busy weekend 😃

New pollen filter for the car today, was surprised to find no metal clip holding the air filter in but a slide on plastic one !
I have also Washed the seat belts as they were not retracting very well so will see if that helps once they have dried properly.

All sorted then 👍
Yes - thank you for all your help and advice, in the end I decided to get it done by DSD Motorwerks, as to be honest I was not confident enough to do this myself. I will be doing a full service though and plan to get stuck into some more mechanicals after that.

Had the aluminium cross over pipes and hoses replaced today as they had been leaking. I only bought the car recently and missed this important detail (heart/head) so just needed to get it done so I can continue to enjoy the driving. Took the car up into central London to collect supplies from my office - must say on the way back tried the PASM sport button and really enjoyed it - great fun - so very happy tonight.

The day is young and I have already replaced the broken and hanging out number plate lights with some new LED ones - much better 😃
-
They look good and I assume as they are LED they keep nice and cool?
-
I changed my brake fluid today, flushed new liquid through the whole system and the improvement was like night and day 😃 very happy with that and now driving is even more fun !

That's looking very shiney - would that caramel wheel thing help get off the residue from past weights on the inside of the wheels ?
-
That's Brilliant, thank you so much

Couldn't help noticing that your bumper grills are nice and black. Have you replaced or refurbished them? Mine are looking very grey and faded and need doing soon. Any tips?
Cheers Jon
Actually I have not replaced them, they were like this when I bought the car, however the last owner had replaced the condensers and rads on either side but I don't know if he did any work in replacing or refurbishing these. They look like they could be removed and re-sprayed reasonably easily.
Hope that helps - Stephen

Also - replaced the pollen filter for some nice fresh air in the cabin when the roof is up !!
What have YOU done to your 987 today

@iborguk Thank you, how did you discover that I used to just copy the link from Imgur for forums?
