Yes GDPR - most main dealers will shred all previous invoices. Crazy really - should be a process to redact the previous owners details but share all maintenance work for your peace of mind. Having said that, the Porsche service history and warranty should mean you have nothing to worry about.

Steering wheel retrimmed by Royal steering wheels in dark grey alcantara with blue stitching and centre stripe to match yachting blue interior. Fantastic quality workmanship as always from Royals. Pic is a bit dark!

This thread has piqued my interest in the PSE - although my 981S has the Carnewal GT, I've always wanted that button for the extra pops and crackles.
Called Leeds OPC this morning - they have 6 (no tail pipes) on back order with an ETA of Feb/March. They have had 2 delivered recently (with tail pipe).
Cost (without tailpipe) is £2090 + VAT fitted so an eye watering £2.5k!
I'll stick with the Carnewal until I win the lottery....

Failed MOT on corroded brake lines on Weds. 😞 Local garage wanted to make new ones out of copper but I made them order Porsche replacements instead. All 4 changed and now passed for it to go back in my garage under a cover. 😆

It does look like a cracking car with low miles and only1 owner, but it doesn’t have nav, cruise control, chrono, pse etc. Also I would want PASM on 20” wheels.
So a nice car but not a bargain to me.- 1

I believe OEM brands are pagid for discs and textar for pads - I always go OEM but think a lot of Porsche drivers go for Brembo. I’m sure someone better qualified than me will be able to advise on here….

Commute mpg

I can still see MPG in the info section using the stalk so not a major issue. I also don't want to really worry about MPG, not what I bought the car for, but can understand why some might monitor it especially if it is a daily driver. The 981 is pretty frugal with the coasting mode....

I can't get a MPG readout on the trip screen - does this need to be selected on the main head unit, as I can't seem to do it using the stalk? I have a Kenwood aftermarket screen so can't access any of the car menus on there (I don't think!).

The gts lights mod must have cost a bit?
£479 from OPC. They quote more online but it includes fitting so I asked for part price only. Took 20mins to fit. 👍🏻

Perhaps chat to @Madlil ?
I do have a spare set of rear 981 lights but am planning to keep them to put back on the car when the day comes to sell. That way I can sell the GTS lights and claw back a bigger chunk of cash. Sorry.
FWIW I think the ones on eBay are decent value at £230

Nice afternoon of fettling. Cleaned, roof protected with Sailkote (not used this before so interested to see how it performs versus Fabsil), GTS rear lights installed, which go perfectly with Agate Grey. Also installed led lights in frunk and boot.

I have a 2012 and has voltage. Are you not scrolling down far enough through the options?

Bulbs and ballasts arrived from Amazon today and got it done this afternoon - no errors and lights look much brighter. Can’t test it in the dark tonight as about to tuck into a bottle of red 😀
Hardest bit for me was working out how the metal bulb holder clips open - took a while to realise they need pushing in and moving to the side.
Thanks @daz05 for the video and giving me the confidence to do it.- 2

@Madlil still going strong.
When I did the Cayenne I bought used OEM ballasts on eBay and they were also ok.
Thanks Daz I think I’ll have a crack at it.

Hi @daz05 I am thinking of doing this upgrade, but reading the reviews of the ballasts on Amazon there are a few people saying they haven’t lasted long or have blown the bulb. How are yours doing, any issues? May consider buying OEM but not sure where to get them from….
thanks

I did this retro fit to my previous 981. Very simple to do - pretty sure I found a guide online, but it is a case of using trim tools to prize apart the plastic rollover covers then remove the blanking strip, install the new plastic wind deflector guide using the screws that will already be in the holes under the blanking strip. Once the new guide is in place simply pop the rollover covers back together and slot in the wind deflector. This really should have been standard kit!

Good luck Madlil, looks great and I know first hand that they are extremely quick!
It's a shame you are only ticking the box now, the engines before were very special especially at high rpm, take it easy the new generation cars can bite and are not so well behaved as the 981.
Thank you Daz, will still be watching your epic vids mate. All the best...

Sold my Base 981 Boxster and replaced with this….
Will miss Porsche ownership, but always wanted an M car. I love this forum so will continue to be a voyeur for some time. 😀 Thank you to all of you for your advice and warmth. 👍🏻

Poor show! Was the price of the M4 not sky high then?
Relatively speaking no although all used premium cars are definitely at a peak in my opinion. Interestingly I could sell the M4 back to WBAC for the same price I am paying from a main BMW dealer. It’s all a bit bonkers at the moment!

Blimey, that seems a shame, but good luck with the sale anyway mate
Prices on the 981 do seem to have gone a bit crazy lately, but I honestly can't think of another car I would like to own more than mine (also, it is extra special to me, for obvious reasons to anyone who followed my story on here).
Thank you! I was worried about a few bits on the 981 - the air con rads need changing in the next 12 months and I am also getting a bit of fraying on the stitching on the hood where it creases. With these things playing on my mind and knowing how much I could get for the car I decided to bite the bullet.
I am sure I will be back!

I have decided to take advantage of the sky high prices on 981's and am selling mine. Feel a bit sad really as it is a great car, but the offer gives me the opportunity to get into a newer M4 convertible for similar money.
I have quite a few nice bits to sell once the car has gone - Sport steering wheel trimmed in alcantara with paddles, Joyetech Apple car play kit, GTS rear lights, LED side indicators, full wind deflector kit. I will post them all in the for sale section in the next few days.

Options to think about when upgrading to a 981?

At last the buyer of my 981 is revealed! Really pleased it has gone to a good home with @Nobby being a gentleman throughout the whole process. When Rob drove it away I thought the exhaust sounded epic! I am enjoying life in the F Type with the only downside being the Pirelli P Zeros which are new all round and are terrible in the wet. How Jaguar have chosen them for the F Type is ridiculous.
