Thank you. I couldn't get it to run on my earlier version. I wonder if anyone has?
I still have the DVD with software update v4.73 on it from when I updated my PCM maps a while ago. Happy to loan it to you if that helps. Feel free to DM me if you are interested.

Fitted a Joyeauto Apple CarPlay kit today. Around 3 hours to fit and a brilliant upgrade to the outdated PCM. Highly recommend it

Refitted steering wheel which arrived back from Royals today. Retrimmed in alcantara with light grey stitching and Centre stripe. Very happy with the quality.

Everything works fine thanks, just swapped them over 😃.
Good to hear, dread to think what an OPC would charge....

Fitted a new Bosch battery; the old one was only showing 12.2v. hopefully won't throw any more PSM errors.
Any coding required when doing this?

Update on my airbag light. It was my fault, I hadn’t pushed one of the airbag connectors all the way in triggering the light. I bought a cheap iCarsoft unit off eBay and reset the light This morning. All sorted.
Im convinced the light would not have come on if I had done the job properly with the battery disconnected. Hopefully the iCarsoft will come in handy again in future. Quite a nice rugged piece of kit..

Out of interest what do they cost
£1000 new and anywhere from £350-£600 on eBay depending on condition.
Here it is fitted -
So changed the steering wheel over after disconnecting the battery and I have still managed to trigger the airbag warning light. I’m surprised as I thought with battery disconnected this wouldn’t happen.
is my only option now to get my indie to reset the airbag light?
thanks

Yes identical.

Don’t they normally recommend disconnecting the battery when removing airbags to avoid accidents.
Seems to be the most common route but others on this thread have done it without disconnecting. Just worried about warning lights and/or having to recalibrate the steering sensor etc.

Changing my steering wheel tomorrow for a sport with paddles bought from @driyage (thank you mate!)
there are different views on here about whether to disconnect the battery or not. What’s risk of changing the steering wheel without disconnecting the battery?
thanks

Just measured mine. The external diameter of the exhaust tips are 88mm on both the PSE tip and the standard as fitted to my stock ‘S’.
So either:
1. My standard exhaust was supplied with the Sports tips.
2. My PSE was supplied with the standard tips
3. There is in fact no difference (as my Experiance).
Im genuinely interested in the answer, maybe you two could measure the external diameter of your tips?
So do you have a spare set of tips to sell? 😛

So when the retro fit is done is there any value in the old system?I have the twin pipe end. Should I take it back from the OPC and keep/sell it or possibly scrap it. Aren’t the cats worth scrap money due to the precious metals?
I’d be tempted to buy your dual tips if you sell them post fitting....

I've used Leeds before now and they have been very good. What did they sting you for the cruise upgrade?
Revolution Porsche in Batley charge around £450+VAT
£570 inc VAT so not that much difference really. Also had a full health check for free and they said my car was in fantastic condition. I fancied a visit to an OPC for the first time ever. Some amazing cars to drool over...

Cruise control retrofitted at Leeds OPC. Decent first time experience there - I requested that they did not wash the car and they complied! Nice added new functionality with the cruise speed setting in the right hand instrument binnacle. Still think the speed +- adjustment should be up and down not in and out on the stalk. I’ll get used to it...

Cost £2300 from OPC Wolves .Was it worth it - YES - Leave it off whenSWMBO is in car - in sport mode it seems to add another dimension to the car -brilliant ,Its a 👍 from me - wouldn't buy another without it .

Just picked up fro my indy to have the rusty Cat to manifold bolts replaced. They hadn't gone completely but I thought it was good preventative maintenance.
They showed me the old gaskets and you could see evidence of leaks on both sides. This is on a late 2015 car with 32k miles, so I would suggest everyone watches these carefully, I would say it is a matter of when not if the bolts give up and a blow becomes evident!
Out of interest how much did this cost? Tempted to do the same....

That looks great and as good as if not better than the more expensive options. Can I ask where you bought the mesh and fitting instructions etc?
@bandit_287 I used @daz05’s YouTube maintenance top tips video(Test Drive Scotland) and another video I found that has a bit more detail by a guy called Matt Wiggins. Search for “981 grill mesh“ on YouTube and you will find it.
In Daz’s video there are links to buy all the items for the various maintenance parts. The mesh I used is off Amazon for £25 AUTO-STYLE TG1253Z 3676
You will also need cable ties, wire cutters and cardboard to make a template. Also worth using a crochet needle to help getting the cable ties back through the mesh.
All in £30 and took me about 2 hours

Fitted DIY mesh to the front grilles to protect the AC condensers. Thanks to @daz05 for his advice and YouTube video on how to do this and where to buy the mesh. Very happy with the results and improves the look of the front 👍🏻

Morning Rob, yes bought it from Bowker but I live In West Yorks. Was a bit of a trek over the A59 as I want to see it twice then went to pick it up. Pretty good dealer.

That looks amazing Patt, however I don’t have PASM so 19s offer the best balance between looks and comfort for me. 20s do look fantastic with the spacers though...

Put them on all 4 corners. The 19s would look even better if you dropped the profile size on your next set of tyres.
Porsche oem are nice but the aftermarket ones are fine also, just get the longer OEM bolts if you go for 5mm spacers.
Thanks Daz. Spacers are on the list of to do’s. 👍🏻

Could do with spacers at the back.
I do like those wheels.😍
Thinking the same! Is it ok to put them on the rear only, and is it best to go Porsche OEM?
What have you done to your 981 today?

Strange as my car is a Feb 2013 and accepted the update. Was there a PCM hardware revision so early in the 981’s life? Offer still stands if you want to try the DVD. 👍🏻
