  1. Yes, no problems with any water coming in at all. Managed to get out briefly in some dry weather yesterday when visiting my mother. Forgot how well these can pile on speed in the upper rev range. So much more enjoyable than the huge well of torque in my wife’s RS3

  2. Nope; it’s an option. And Porsche don’t do the retrofit kit anymore (which used to be about £150 including the isofix bar), so I’m having to acquire the bits at twice the price separately.

I have considered a single bucket for the  driver, but these are £4k+ second hand!

  3. Be patient. Though it could be the thick end of a month before I finally get it.

I did have a dream list of spec but sometime’s value comes into it as well, and the deal making fiscal sense.

The car in question is basalt black, didn’t want white, pdk so my wife will be prepared to drive it occasionally, and sports plus seats so that I can pop a baby seat in occasionally - you know, all the sexy stuff!

But a late car with reasonably low miles for something that’s close to 13 years old.

Will post some pictures etc once here.

  4. So after the 987.2S that i upgraded with the Spyder suspension and cosmetic bits, followed by a 991.1 C2S, then an Aston V8 Vantage S Roadster, and a S1 Elise, I’m a hairs breadth away from getting into a 987 Spyder! Probably the car I should have had all along (would certainly have been cheaper!)

The 987.2S is still the sweet spot out of the above for handling. The Elise gives it a run for it’s money but is just a little small for me to get comfortable in.

    very excited

The exhaust note is spot on for my liking.

On cold start and under load/full throttle it is loud (but not boy racer noisy) and unleashes the flat 6 to its best, which is subdued on the stock exhaust.

At part throttle/motorway driving, etc there is no drone and isn’t loud inside the cabin.

Thanks Clive. Finally decided to go for the Spyder after the mods to my previous S and by way of a 911 detour. Car I’m looking at doesn’t have the PSE so looking back at alternatives. Had the Carnewal GT on the 987 previously

This was from the day the Carnewal Cayman R GT exhaust was fitted. It sounds even throatier now since it has bedded in and with the addition of the sports headers.

Hi Clive, how did you get on with this exhaust in the longer term? Is it particularly under part throttle/on a motorway cruise?

They are excellent to deal with, there cars are prepared to a very high standard. Their warranty is the best I’ve ever seen and Kia is a excellent person to deal with. We went down there to buy a gen 2 Cayman for my friend and was very impressed with their attitude, stock and their service.

They aren’t the cheapest but if you buy a car from them I doubt it will need any cosmetic or mechanical work and also with their warranty you are more than covered 👍

PS how did your friend do in negotiating a deal?

  8. I have yes; and it’s a good buy. My issue is if I had a gts I’d want the gts interior. I changed my old 987.2S interior to be gts like with the alcantara etc and that’s one of the elements that draws me to the car sadly.
