replaced a blown brake light bulb!
noticed the amber on the indicator bulbs was peeling off so replaced them with chrome amber bulbs.
strangely satisfying removing the hint of orange from the silver reflector so now I'm eyeing up the fronts....

kevin450 inspired me to get in with recovering my cracked arm rest lid - super pleased with how well this has turned out, and only 10 quid in materials!

Bought my 987.1 2.7 so that I wouldn't be tempted (or required, in the case of the ULEZ expansion) to spend more money on a newer, shinier, faster boxster - and the interior of the 986 just doesn't do it for me. I was thinking about a Z4, which don't seem that highly regarded to drive, or leasing a new MX-5, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the relatively low-tech fiddling that has come with the boxster. It also turned out to be more than fast enough, I can't really imagine I'm missing out on anything that wouldn't result in legal woes or worse and significantly more expense.
I am slightly surprised by the warm welcome it gets everywhere, my neighbours all love it and it gets comments and looks everywhere I go, and other drivers actually slow down and let you out at junctions - it must be the colour, right? 😁

Any more info @kevin450? Did you just glue the leather over the existing cover?
My arm rest needs doing, it's got a big crack down the middle but no-one seems to do them in anything other than black, but I have blue interior.

yes, I remember that being a right pain to detach and I am pretty sure I broke the catch so watch out!

This is what I used to do the same job on my 986:
1 x Black Aluminium Racing Grille Net Vent Car Tuning 3,5x5mm Mesh L100 x H25cm | eBay
Used the same myself, attached it to the uprights in the black plastic frame using small black zip ties - invisible unless you know they're there.
You need to cut the mesh (which is hard work) pretty close to the required size otherwise it'll stop the bumper fitting back on again.

I think for the cost of new clips and how often you have the door cards off, just get a bag of new ones, on standby if required.
I've got a bag of new ones, I just can't get the old ones to release on the passenger door!

Fitted long anticipated rear LED lights, only to find they're either broken or are actually LHD units - no fog light and a warning on the dash
Waiting to hear from the seller what their response is...

Exhaust leak fixed (both sides for 150 quid, could have been a lot worse), MOT passed and @Mr96er's old wheels & winter tyres fitted!
Some driving required to see if the rattle on startup is also gone, the garage said this was probably a loose exhaust sensor.

Replaced one of the roof tension cables as it had frayed and broken - that was not much fun!
Removed the drivers seat to install an underseat subwoofer and found 1.45 in loose change - result!
Also found this warning sticker, which must have been under the seat quite some time - where does this start off?
Now I have to stop driving with the roof down at -1!

I used "butyl rope" to do mine, after recommendations from others - something like this: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07W5LXSP4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
the old seal disintegrated and can be scraped out pretty easily
