  1. Earlier this week, had the car serviced again, only 400 miles and nearly a year between them!  Had the gearbox oils changed, wheels balanced and a rear tuning fork.  The car drives amazing, what a difference its made!

I can definitely recommend Quorn sports & classics in Leicester, for anyone who's local

Today had to fit a battery as the old one was not the right one and if wasn't trickle charged it would go flat quick!!

Just got to fit my plugs now....

So I finally got to help with the build of my own engine... 👍

    Did some of this:

    Then some more:

    A bit of this...

And also almost all of these:

Brilliantly enjoyable and I now understand why these flat format engines take so long to assemble - at one point it felt like we were building it from the inside out....!

It's not finished and you can bet I'll be there for as much of it as I can.

may i ask roughly how much have you had to spend to rebuild the engine?

Bought my first Box (a 2003 S) back in September. Spent the last few days doing a major service, antifreeze flush, the off bit of waxoyling and swapping the existing backbox for a bypass one that I bought (from a fellow member) a few months back. A nice mix of preventative maintenance and increased enjoyment. Great to get to know the car - some different (tighter!) packaging to more run-of-the-mill stuff, but nothing fundamentally scary. And a serious amount of cash saved.

awesome, another member that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty!!  Enjoy!

    Nicky,

How’s the fitting going? Is there a how to you followed or is it just some common sense, wouldn’t mind having a go!

having taken seats apart in the past its pretty straight forward, also having the correct tools helps.

I would love to do this on my car too. If at all possible, could you do a write up?

Its fairly straight forward. however i can maybe try to get something put together if you like?

I really need to get this done. Can't see it before it goes into storage for the winter though....

Having only had mine a short while, i have tried my best to get up to date with the maintenance.Sorting out a few mechanical issues, given it a real deep clean, had new wheels and tyres. So to get the alignment checked i know that im getting the best from the car.

I am doing bits every month when i get paid!!

I know that my car would have been getting towards a poor example if i didn't get to it on time.

I was looking to get a project so this car was perfect and the condition is getting really nice
