  1. i dont. And im not 100%, but im assuming as the whine starts just the once on cold start and then stops after say 30 seconds and isnt heard from again until the next cold start. Think its just a squeaky bearing, but if its a component i can remove to service, then i will.

  2. Any of you guys ever removed the secondary air injection pump before? Pretty sure mine is making a racket on cold start, wondering if I can get at it to see if I can service it in any shape or form. Seems a decent project if it's even possible.

This looks ace! How is it done? Where from? Did you make it? Alchemy? Really compliments the rest of the interior, and I love the simple heater controls, they just look right if you know what I mean. Great car!

Yeah I made it, and cheers. It's original Porsche leather from a door card I bought, so it's the right colour and age. Was pretty hard work though to be honest, but I like the final result, something a bit different.

Thanks, I presume you cut the centre console to achieve that, Ive got the old controls and I think Ive asked you in the past how you positioned it lower down., big task I think you said.

Huge amounts of butchery required, but it's perfectly doable if you want it enough!

  5. i used the Connects2 version. I chose it because it had the matching "rounded" section i guess at the top that matched up to the rounded part of the frame under the heater vents. Others ive seen are just flat, and that wouldnt have worked for me. Only picture i have at this moment in time, but you can just see what i mean at the top of the surround there.

  6. went to investigate the drivers door latch in preparation for replacement, just to double check the number of pins on the connector etc. When in there i discovered this:

    Video, hopefully

(having trouble with the video, cant put it in the post directly and you might have to turn sound on)so i opened up the latch and re-soldered all the joints and its good to go! Hopefully sorted but at least i know its a 9-pin version now for when the inevitable happens.

Also rounded off the bolt under the airbag logo, had to drill it out. Who designed that shyate, can barely get a drill in without fouling the surrounding leather, had to go in via a bit of metal tube around the bit. Pftt!

Oh and cleaned off all the green sludge on the window rubbers and silicone sprayed them.

Grilles are extra with the rears, he did offer but I had some mesh left over from when I did the grilles in the front bumper 😁

Do you mean the door pocket covers (the flap that opens up)? Mine were a nasty plastic which the colour had worn off clearly from many years of an arm resting there so I decided to go with alcantara to match my steering wheel plus I thought I'd struggle to get a colour match to the rest of the leather

Yeah I do the grills as an extra as some people want to make their own, use fabric or whatever they fancy. The grills take an extra 7hrs to make so I don't include em if they ain't going to be used. Easily retro fitted afterwards though if needed. Hope the brackets arrive in good shape Chris.

Pretty much the same as they CDR22 I would imagine as they are on standard ICE connectors, one for speakers and one for power etc.  Also make it easy swapping to a different head unit if you ever want to.  I did a head unit then a few months later added the rear speakers.  The main thin is to add an accessible connector in the rear speaker wires so you can still easily remove the storage unit to get to the engine bay.

There are some posts on here of the different speakers that will fit.  Also worth changing the dash speakers but as they have to be small, the choices are limited.  I used 2 different Alpines.

with the adapters ive designed up you can fit any 4" speaker in the dash and any 3.5" speaker in the rear, you are only limited on the dash that it needs to be non-flanged and less than 43mm deep, which covers pretty much all 4" speakers. The rears, so long as they are 3.5" there is no other criteria for fitment. I use Kenwoods in my front, alpine in the rear. I know a few guys who have used Rocky Fos in the front and plenty of others. Hope that helps!

Both very neat solutions but did you not look at putting the mic in the OE place behind the small grille on the instrument binnacle?

various internet rumours suggested it wasnt a very good place for it, so i just didnt bother. Probably all internet b*ll*cks.
