Having the OPC fitted exhaust also means insurance companies are less likely to notice car is modified ! When looking for insurance quotes last year ,AA wouldn't

insure car because its got Zunsport grills fitted !!

Wow that’s just crazy. Have them to fit actually. Cars being detailed and ceramic coated Monday and will get the detailer to fit them. I just won’t mention them when it’s due insurance next time round.

  2. So OPC Cardiff have now got back with a revised price of £2528 inc VAT which is as advertised in Tequipment catalog.
An expensive extravagance but then some would say Porsche ownership is just that! So I’ve booked it in for the fit 22nd September. I have gone this way purely for the fact it’s a purpose built extra that for most does not devalue the car. For some it might but I don’t intend to sell it so irrelevant really. Let’s just hope it’s worth it😂👍

Cost £2300 from OPC Wolves .Was it worth it - YES - Leave it off whenSWMBO is in car - in sport mode it seems to add another dimension to the car -brilliant ,Its a 👍 from me - wouldn't buy another without it .

    When was this? Recently

That's what i would have thought too, particularly with all the talk by those who would retrofit the OEM system at huge expense just to leave it permanently switched on anyway?

I would switch it off which is why the retro fit appeals. All nice and neat and looks as it should be there. But I must admit at 3K I’m struggling to justify it.

  5. So I contacted OPC Cardiff and they provided a quote for £3011 😳 I have asked why that price is well above what is given in the Tequipment catalog and I’m awaiting an answer. Apparently it also includes discounts for PCGB Membership.
Phoned Bristol and guess what. Same group so they just stated they have quoted. Cardiff, Twesksbury, Bristol and Swindon are all the same group so pointless ringing around those to get a better deal.

  6. Cheers everyone. It appears PSE is a thumbs up so I’ll probably bite the bullet and open the wallet 😂😂 It isn’t a daily and really just for driving on mostly Welsh A roads in the Beacons and Mid Wales so the additional dimension talked about seems worth it.

Have you considered buying it and fitting it without the switchable option and just having it open all the time. That's where most of us keep ours anyway.

My video on the vacuum issue I faced will show you how it's plumbed in.

It's probably costing around £1000 to have the switchable option added which is a lot for something that isn't really needed.

I agree it’s probably not needed and really was looking just for audible enjoyment whilst driving. I suppose it’s down too the question. Is the cost for additional sound effects worth it.

  8. So following a discussion with a fellow member of PCGB the only drain holes on the 981 are the two rear holes. Looking at the video made by Daz the water seen exiting to the front of the car when pouring water into these rear drain holes when the car is on a level surface has run along the sills after exiting the rear drain holes.
As the link above shows the rear drain tubes bend towards the side intake ducks so the trombone cleaner trick I use to use on the 987 doesn’t work.
So I plan to just regularly check for blockages by pouring water into the holes and checking the water runs out.
Stay Safe everyone and keep checking those holes 👍

  9. So having come from a 987 Boxster to a 981 I still have concerns around blocked drain holes. On the 987 it was a simple task to check for blockages with a trombone cleaner. Pushed down until it exited out the bottom.

Now I tried this task on the 981 and no joy. Why. It appears the rear holes don’t go straight down but instead the drain tube has a bend in it towards the front of the car. Now Test Drive Scotland have a video on YouTube that shows water exiting both rear and front when water is poured into the rear holes to check for blockages ( when car is on level).

So does anyone know How many drain holes there are and where are they located and how are people checking them and keeping them clear?

    Cheers

  10. Mine started to leak after heavy rain sorted with a smear of pure silicone grease at £9 a pot. Just a little cheaper than my local OPC to replace seal at £800
