Has anyone replaced the brake lines on a 987.1?
I'm wondering what's involved, does anything need dropping? -
I hear what you are saying @Dubdubz but conversely, those that are leasing are throwing away money every month.
I do all the work on my own cars myself and on the odd occasion that I have to spend large amounts on parts for any of the cars I own, I do this happily knowing that I am still saving lots of money in the long run.
Last year I replaced all the front-end cooling piping on my 987, this year our Honda FRV needs its suspension refreshing all around but usually its only needed service parts.- 1

My CDR display was blank since when I had my car. The one day I was sat in the car thinking this issue is due to the pins not contacting properly so what happens if I bang on the front of the display.
So I went ahead and did just that! I kid you not, the screen came fully alive and has been on ever since!
I was super chuffed with myself for that easy win 😂

I need to do mine, all round.
I can see what is needed for the front, a sub frame drop but what's needed for the rear lines? -
Yep no good for the engine, no good the environment, no good for anything really.

Ah ok!
You can tell I'm still a Porsche noob! LOL- 1

Shame as there is plenty of tread on them too. ~6mm with even wear.
Time to have some "fun" before changing them over 😃

That's an odd observation, like Porsche manufacter batteries themselves.
But overall she sounds in good health/- 1

There's also Kurt over in Stourbridge.
I think his place is called "Black Country Porsche & VW"

Could be a gearbox failure.
If you can't do it yourself, you'll need someone to checkover all the mechanisms. -
Could well be, it did seem quite floppy when I had it off for the water pipe changes when I first purchased the car, however, having never worked on a Boxster prior to that I had no clue if that was normal or not.

Not done any car stuff for a good while mainly because she's been behaving well and being rewarded with topless runs out in the fantastic weather of late.
I do need to look into a slight knock from the front at some point and also give her good interior clean.

Get an OBD reader connected up and see what the live are readings tell you.

How did you get on with this @Phily cheese ?
Did you manage to fix the issue? -
I feel your pain!
I had the same issue recently when I was working on the front end.
I can't even rememberwhat actually worked and managed to get the the darn thing unclipped now.
I think I did spray a bit of WD40 in between the two conectors but again I can't remember if that helped.Sorry, this is of not much help. Truth be told I've worked on many a different car over many years.
I have a full on workshop built into my home garage, I've only owned a Porsche since May but one thing that has thrown me is how darn Porsche electrical connectors actually hold together and what the trick is to separating them.
I think you can get a special tool for them. -

Yes, it's fine to mix brands across axles but plays havoc with my OCD so I tend to just staying matching all round.

Fixed! Some assisance from plastic pry tools down both sides and a bit of persistent tugging got the front part unclipped.
Did a bit of of clean inside, placed the clip thing back in it's rightful place, pushed the front back on and all is good again. -
Is Wurth 2040 a silicone spray?

I've got some trim removal tools.
Does anyone have pictures of the vent when its out. It may help knowing where all the clips are.

I don't play Golf so can't say for certainty about a golf trolley and a bag but my big cricket back fits just fine in the boot.
It's quite a large bag, so I would think a golf trolley/bag should be fine.
When I bought a Nissan 350Z a few years ago I had read that Nissan had specially designed the boot to take a golf bag, so in that also my cricket bag fitted easily.I would expect Porsche to be just as savvy and forward thinking as Nissan.

Have you check that there is a positive 12v at all three injectors on 4, 5 and 6?

Thanks for the reply guys.
I don't mind dropping the front subframe or the gearbox, I just wanted to gain an idea of what was involved.
