alank
Hi having driven my s for a while now I notice the gear change does not seem as positive as for instance , my Vw golf. An example is when I want to change from 5th to 3rd the stick does not seem to centralise itself so I can select 3rd. It feels like I am almost guessing where to push the stick to select the gear. Perhaps Porsche boxes are a little different to mainstream makes. It is my first drive of a Porsche. Thanks
edc
It should self centre. You have a problem. It could be that you need a new cable pack but you can try popping off and cleaning up the cable ballpoint ends on the gearbox first.
AMacdonald
Or you may just not be using it enough. My 986 suffered the same thing (trouble locating 3rd from 5th and even 2nd) and I even asked Revolution to look at it during other work. No fault found. By the time I'd got it home again (6 hour round trip) it was noticeably better and after 4 days blasting around South Wales it's now as slick as anything.
