Boxbrownie
According to the owners booklet my 987.2 requires C5W bulbs which is fine but looking around there are two types available 30mm long or 38mm long, does anyone know which is correct for the Boxster please? Toeside
https://www.osram.com/osram_com/tools-and-services/tools/vehicle-lamp-replacement-guide/ Try this lamp replacement tool guide from osram. There are others on the interweb or you could take the old ones out and measure??
Boxbrownie
Yes I have looked at a few sites but none specify length of the bulb just the fitting C5W......as for removing the bulb I was hoping to order first as I had read the licence lamps are easy to damage upon removal. But if needs must.
Boxbrownie
Well according to the Osram site there is yet another size.....35mm long.....
Boxbrownie
If anyone cares they are 38mm long, and don't try prying out the whole assembly when the screws are out, there is a screw slot for levering out the inner lens and bulb holder leaving the outer lamp housing in situ. Toeside
I guess it must be the 35mm's then ?. I think I had a similar experience with the 987 lights when I was trying to upgrade to LED's but the control boxes had the last say and I stayed with standard bulbs

lordlee
The LED's with resistors work fine in mine. I used 36mm though http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120906569149?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
