Tigerstew
Hey all I know that the 981 boxster and Cayman were either made in Zuffenhausen or VW Osnabruck. Is there more of a cache buying a boxster or Cayman from zuffenhausen rather than osnabruck? any differences in quality? you can find out if yours was made in Zuffenhausen or VW Osnabruck by the 11th digit of your vin. If it is an "s" then it was made in Zuffenhausen, if it is a "k" then it was made in osnabruck
Greenman
I've not heard this mentioned anywhere as an advantage or not Based on above, my 2015 Boxster was made in Zuffenhausen. I've had one warranty claim for a faulty active drivetrain mount.no other issues.
ChrisPa
No cachet at all in a Zuffenhausen one, all the engines are made in the same factory and much of the others parts are as well so it only final assembly that is different, then all are sent to Zuffenhausen for final quality control checks. In the past it was felt that Valmet made Boxsters were better as only a few were made at Zuffenhausen to " keep their hand in". I've had Boxsters from all the various sites and all have been perfect so far. .
