Steve Morse
I want to have some minor routine work done on my Boxster S 986 (new brake pads, braided hoses, new brake fluid plus a couple of other minor jobs) I'd prefer to go somewhere local that is recommended, where I know that I'll get good advice and won't get ripped off with a comical hourly rate. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
Bluepork03
There's a shared map on this forum which shows known garages, which might help: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/viewer?mid=z5p132SB7NNk.kTnHCBbfgKgY
Mrkevuk
You are just up the rd from me (Surbiton) . Eporsche in Bisley are good and you wont get ripped off. Lots of happy customers on here. We've got 1 in surbiton now called Charles ivy . Not used them as all though they are 2 mins from where I live they are expensive. Yes I looked at Charles Ivy too as they really are on my doorstep. I looked at Eporsche's web site after your recommendation and their prices quoted for work (major/minor service, brake fluid change etc) are almost identical to Charles Ivy e.g. both charge £75 for brake fuild change. Am I missing something? :-/
Mrkevuk
I've just had a look to . Major service at eporsche £325 , Charles ivy £495 . Brake fluid is the same . If I was you phone them both up and get a quote (also ask what there hourly rate is ) as these cars always seem to want more. I know where I would go . roly who owns Eporsche has a very good reputation. When I 1st got my car i took it to GT One in chertsey who are excellent but very expensive. The lesson I learnt from that was take it to a garage I trust and who's hourly rate is ok as it can soon add up .
JimC2407
Dropped mine off at Eporsch yesterday as the Charles Ivey quote was considerably more expensive for replacing the rigid metal brake lines. Well worth giving Dean a call and talking over what you want to have done. As said above, many happy customers on here.
Menoporsche
I also thought of GT one, couldn't remember why they weren't recommended. Eporsch very popular here.

TimsterC
Also +1 for eporsch. Dean is very fair and won't let you down. £70 +vat for labour from my bill from last month. Dean won't do the job unless it's needed or you beg him to do it.
