Thehighlander
Lads, My 986 is a 2003 NO AIRCON Alternator failed on Saturday so I got one from a breakers The one that's arrived when I spin the pulley the alternator spins with it MY BROKEN ONE - When I spin it you can stop the pulley but alternator keeps spinning BUT this could be why it's broken haha. The pulleys look different by the way they are fitted to the alternator - MY ONE IS SPLINE AND THE NEW ONE IS A NUT. My alternator 120A New one - 150A My part number 996.603.102.02 NEW ONE - 997.603.012.00 They have told me it will do the job but I'm not convinced. Hope this makes sense as I'm on my phone. Anyone on here shed some light?
topradio
The PET shows a number of alternators for the Boxster. 996 603 012 02 is described as having a freewheel lock. 997 603 012 04 (and also 06) are both described as 'without freewheel lock) I should think it will work just fine.
