Off on a road trip in June and I know these can use a little bit oil so want to either do an oil change before our trip or at least carry a litre to top up ‘en route’ Ive found a half used litre bottle of 0w40 Mobil 1 in my frunk, should I just get one of those or renew the engine with something more suitable. Grizzlee Posted February 26, 2019 Report Share Posted February 26, 2019 Mobil 1 0W-40 is the OEM oil 5W-40 is also considered acceptable being a little thicker when cold. It wouldn't do any harm giving it an oil change before your trip, depending on when it was last carried out, a lot of people change the oil annually.
