718as
Hi, Is the slot Unlocked, i.e. does it take Sim's from all mobile networks? Thanks
Paul P
Never thought about it but translating to phones. They get network locked to a carrier because the carrier “subsidises” the cost of the hardware. Can’t see that applies to a headunit in a car so going to say no and easy test. Try it with a phone sim and see what happens. There are plenty of adapters out there to make little sims fit big slots. but. Serious question because I don’t know about pcm 3.1. Why would you ? Are you not able to use Bluetooth ? Or a wired connection. ? My experience stops at pcm 3 with Bluetooth (handsfree profile) and universal audio input (usb + 30 pin iPod connector ) i thought pcm 3.1 just did phone and tunes as standard and if not there is a 3rd party solution for adding Apple CarPlay ( yes, assumption on the Apple part ) is Bluetooth an option. ? Paul P
Fair enough - I guess i meant "surprised the 3.1 systems have the sim slot at all" - but worth throwing a PAYG in there - might try one in mine (pcm3)
