Car is running perfectly otherwise and no performance issues (2013 981s) otherwise. I don't think I it is loud enough to record - just wondered whether a slight whine is normal. Quibble Posted July 17, 2019 Report Share Posted July 17, 2019 Disclaimer alter - mine is new to me and I'm no expert but.......... there is a very faint noise I could describe as a whine. Not really aware of it 99% of the time (and certainly not with the roof down). There was the same noise on two others (I test drove but didn't buy) so mine sounds the same as them!!! So my official, highly experienced verdict (based on all of 1500 miles!!!) is it's normal - drive more (or put the roof down, drive faster and drown it out with wind and exhaust!!!!)
