Richard Hamilton Posted August 17, 2019 Report Share Posted August 17, 2019 Does this sound like a possibility:1.3 PCM switches off after you start the system and themessage "PCM switch-off protection - overtemperature" appears. Cause: The navigation software "Model care A" (= Model care A, DVD labelled 04.2004 or 08.2004 or 10.2004) was used previously to force or perform a Downdate on a navigation unit, which is only compatible with the "Model care B" software (=Model care B, DVD labelled 04.2005 or higher). In other words, using the wrong navigation DVD. Try removing the DVD, perform a reset by pressing the 1, 4 & 7 buttons at the same time, and see if the error goes.
