DaveEFI
The main central interior light on my 987.2 is, to say the least, pathetic. Looks to be a 5w tungsten. Any easy upgrade? Is it on the Canbus and may not like any changes? On my other car with a similar size lamp, I managed to squeeze in a pair of 2w Cree LEDs, which gives plenty of light to read by. Would like that sort of level.
Paul P
pretty sure non of the interior lights (nor the number plate ligts) are canbus - you could pull existing bulb to check if it throws an error
pgk188
I changed all my interior lamps to led with no can us problems on my 987.1.
DaveEFI
Thanks. I've not looked to see what type of bulb it is - are your LEDs a lot brighter?

Yes, very much brighter and white rather than a dull yellow/amber
JHamshaw
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153468987414 I can confirm that this shape of LED bulb replacement fits the interior dome/roof light in (at least!) a 987.2 - the flat types don’t fit as the bulb goes into a holder from the back so needs to be as close as a W5W bulb in shape and size as possible. Of course, being LED it only works one way round so there’s a 50% chance of being right first time - check before refitting the light unit! Whiter and brighter, but a diffused light as opposed to reading spot but that’s a limitation of the housing design.....
