joeluth
Hi all, I've been offered a project boxster, owner says it's got electrical gremlins that have developed over the last few months. hood not working and issues with windows and horn. I asked if the ECU has water damage, he doesn't know but says the car has been garaged, hood in good condition, and the cabin is dry. I believe the most common issue is blocked drains leading to water getting into the ECU under the passenger seat, but just wondering if there's any other common issues that cause electrical faults that I can ask about? Many thanks!
mike597
Mice/rats eating the electrics? Iffy ignition switch also can result in some strange issues.

charlieboy2608
If the owner confirms the alarm ECU is dry I believe you should be able to unlock/lock the doors with the remote and enable the ignition lights on the dashboard. These steps also confirm that the key(s) are synched to the vehicle.
