999 WRC
I love my car/I hate my car!! 🙄 As some of you will recall my Boxster S is in at a local indy for a 'light' refresh. That has become a saga worthy of a book but latest update is the DMF is ******! After a quick bit of research it looks like the only options are: 1. Genuine Porsche 2. LSUK aftermarket 3. Good used I already have a replacement Sachs clutch kit that was ready to go in but wasn't expecting to DMF to be toast (car has only done 60,000). The flywheel surface itself is fine but way to much rotary movement in it apparently (I did see it in situ and yes - a lot of movement) Any pointers/thoughts/recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks in advance Nick
acgtrider
Hi Nick. There are values online of the amount of movement deemed acceptable. If it falls outwith these limits I would replace with a LUK flywheel. These are OE quality and should suit your application perfectly without breaking the bank for a Porsche supplied part. Personally I would avoid used part unless you know it’s age/mileage and know it to be in VGC Andrew
Tony Daniel
Always seems a false economy to me not to do the duel mass flywheel whilst replacing a clutch.
Stiffkey
I agree with acgtrider, swap it with a new LUK.
Shazbot
Fitted a LUk when I changed my clutch, reasonable price and OE quality.
